25.01.2022 To our wonderful customers, We will be closed from 12pm Thursday 24th December, reopening on Monday the 4th January(7am). Can we take this opportunity to wish everybody a wonderful Christmas and a great New Years. Once again we have been humbled this year with the response from our wonderful customers, your loyalty and patronage has been amazing in a year that words can’t describe( we will never forget in late March when no one knew what was going to happen and we had customers lining up before 7am in the morning to come in and support us, or donations pushed under the door at night or families offering us groceries, what a place the mid Mountains is). This is why we look forward to serving your needs for a long time to come. Also photos were taken pre COVID.

21.01.2022 Well done customers of Rust & Timber, our raffle for Johns run has raised $472 and has just pushed him above the $5,000 mark achieving his goal. Its why we love the mid mountains so much, I don't need to say anything about 2020, but we still have individuals in the community having a crack, and wonderful people that have supported John to get him to his target, I'm so proud of the customers of Rust & Timber.

21.01.2022 Anyone need last minute school Xmas gifts?

21.01.2022 COVID UPDATE To our wonderful locals & regulars, For the short term we will be closing on a Saturday & Sunday due to COVID.... We can no longer physically or mentally enforce social distancing required measures of a weekend. The health & safety of our staff, family and loyal customers is much more important to us than any financial gain of opening on a weekend. We can only thank our beautiful locals and regulars that have done the right thing by us over the last few months and hopefully we can get through this as a community. As one of our beautiful locals told us "if everybody does their little bit for humanity, we will be ok" Rust & Timber

21.01.2022 No words really needed, we hope everybody is safe and healthy

20.01.2022 Dear Customers, To comply with social distancing rules for Coronavirus restriction we have decreased our internal seating configuration. Can we please ask for fairness in using internal seating especially for seniors within our community. Can we please ask for patience regarding being served. As we will endeavour to serve takeaway before dine in customers to try and limit numbers within the cafe at any one time. We will also only be serving takeaway drinks in our disposable c...ups. We apologise to anyone in advance with a multi use cup, however the health and safety of our staff and customers is paramount. Finally, can we please thank our loyal customers and staff for their continued support, you have become more than stakeholders in our business, you are part of the Rust and Timber family. Small business in the Mountains has had everything possible thrown at us in the last six months and to be totally honest without your support and kindness our survival would be in jeopardy. Thankyou Mid Mountains and Beyond Rust and Timber Family

15.01.2022 Easter is in the air and stock is arriving!!

15.01.2022 Fully stocked for Easter. Quality hand made Chocolate. Why go to Penrith and shopping centres and large crowds with the current climate, when you come and relax at Rust and Timber.

15.01.2022 Do you have the need to see other people and actual faces, try our new Virtual Community room activities to keep you connected.

14.01.2022 Please get to the $5,000 Mr Turner!! and keep up the training!!

12.01.2022 To our wonderful customers, thank you for Saturday. It was quiet emotional in trying times to see customers lining up outside before we opened to support us, especially one who will remain nameless having a tape measure ensuring appropriate social distancing measures. An update on tomorrow to try and enable us to stay open we will only be serving takeaway. Apologies in advance for any regular dine in customers, hopefully it will allow us to be viable and for you to remain healthy as well. We will be serving hot and cold takeaway drinks, limited food, coffee beans and plenty of Easter Eggs.

11.01.2022 Just a quick one let everybody know we are open from 7 to 10 this morning for our loyal locals and regulars. Staff safe and have a lovely weekend.

09.01.2022 Just a quick one to let you all know we will need to close from approx. 10am to 12pm on Friday. So we will be open from 7am to 10am and 12pm to approx. 3:30pm. Sorry for the short notice.

09.01.2022 2020. What a year, fire, flood and pandemic and our community of Lawson is still standing strong. We have decided to take a short break next week to ensure we charge towards Xmas and 2021.From the bottom of our hearts thank you for your support this year, we haven’t had a table or chair since the 1st April and we are still going, which in itself is amazing and a reflection of a wonderful community.See you on the 12th.

08.01.2022 I hope everybody is safe and healthy, we thought we would share this wonderful Mountains service

06.01.2022 Just a quick message to let everybody know due to family commitments we will need to close at 3pm on Friday afternoon. Have an awesome weekend.

05.01.2022 It’s been a while since we have posted on Facebook, and we hope everybody are still healthy and safe. As you would be aware we are still only able to offer a takeaway service due to social distancing requirements and our lack of internal space. We would also like to thank our loyal customers and community for you support over the last few months, without your support we would not still be here. Unfortunately even without the challenges of bushfires and COVID we have been battling with crippling price increases in many areas for the whole of 2020 and unfortunately we can not hold our prices any longer. We are in the process of increasing our coffee and food prices, however we have also decreased our prices of hot chocolates and certain food items as a thank you for your continued loyalty.

05.01.2022 2020 has been a year we will never forget, and we will never forget the generosity that our wonderful community has shown us since March, which has inspired us to keep going. As a thankyou to our wonderful customers, we would like to make a donation to John Turners charity run in December to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House on behalf of all our customers and their families. In December, in a period of two weeks, John will run 13 half marathons and finishing it off with ...a marathon distance run from the Blue Mts to Nepean Hospital. If he can raise $5000 before the run he will shave his beard and as a sign of support our son Harry(who Mr Turner is his teacher at Springwood High) will also run part of the way as a support runner and cut off his mullet as well. And as a further fund raiser, if we can get $100 worth of donations for the hamper John is holding(will be drawn by John before the run), my little mate Megan will also run a few kilometres with John. Thankyou to every one for your support and John thank you for your continued support of such a worthy charity. See more

05.01.2022 To our wonderful Rust and Timber family, as one of our wonderful customers said a couple of weeks ago if everybody does their bit for humanity we will all be ok and with those words we have decided to close over the Easter period from Friday 10th April through to Monday 13th April to play our small part in stopping this virus potentially spreading through the mountains from anyone travelling through over Easter. Our normal opening hours 7am to 3:30pm will resume on Tuesday 14th April and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. Our family would like to thank all of you for your overwhelming continued support in these challenging times. Wishing you all a Happy Easter, stay safe, stay at home over the weekend and utmost respect to everyone as you navigate through these peculiar times. With love. Rust and Timber family

04.01.2022 Just a quick one to let all our wonderful customers know that our trading hours in the school holidays Monday to Friday will be 7am to 2 pm. We will also be closed on the middle weekend of the holidays for a bit of family time. Please have a safe and happy school holidays and well done to all students, teachers and parents and carers for getting through this difficult term.

03.01.2022 Just a quick post to thank all our loyal customers for their support over the last few weeks, without you we would not still be here. Also, I would like to thank the Lawson Combined Services Social Club for trusting us again with an ANZAC day display in our cafe. These wonderful ladies and gentlemen in this club give so much to our beautiful community and even without a ceremony this year due to this terrible virus, this club still shines bright in a very dark time. We as a community are lucky to have such wonderful volunteers. Stay safe everybody and hopefully we will see you soon.
