24.01.2022 Brrrrrr, hope you are all keeping warm and socially distancing! Our menu selections for this week including some warming dishes to share with family and friends- a few at a time. Corn, potato and bacon chowder (we can leave out the bacon to make it vegetarian) with cheddar, sun-dried tomato and leek muffins... Roasted cauliflower curry with pea pilaf rice and garlic naan bread Lamb and rosemary pie with a potato and parsnip mash All 3 dishes are $32 for 4 serves and $48 for 6. To have a little treat for afters, we have raspberry double choc brownies, $6 per serve- and you know our serves are quite generous! This week we are trying something a little different- could you please have your orders into us by 5pm on Wednesday. We so appreciate all your wonderful support, but we are struggling a little to get the shopping done and the food prepared in time if we accept orders right up to lunchtime on Thursday so we will try this for a few weeks and see how we go. 24.01.2022 Afternoon everyone. Reminder time! The menu for this week is- Our soup is New England seafood chowder, this time with a garlic, herb and cheese pull-apart bread Chicken, leek, bacon and sweet corn pie... Red lentil and vegetable lasagna All are $40 for 4 serves and $60 for 6. Dessert is a new recipe l have made a couple of times, curtesy of Annabel Crabbe, a lemon olive oil cake- simply one of the best lemon cakes l have ever made and l have made a lot over the years. Delicious and light with a real zesty flavour. $28 for a whole cake, $7 for individual (Texas muffin size) We are doing most of the main course cooking on a Thursday now, leaving the breads and cakes for Friday. This means we really need peoples containers by Wednesday night or first thing Thursday, especially this week as both the lasagna and pie cannot be transferred. Also when you order, can you indicate if you would like them totally baked, or if you would prefer to bake them fresh when you are going to eat them. 22.01.2022 CHRISTMAS IS COMING................ To make life a little bit easier we are putting up some delicious Christmas goodies for you to share, give away as gifts or treat yourself!! On offer is the following :... * Festive shortbread (15 pieces) $10 * Mini yo-yo’s (13 pieces) $10 * Chocolate Brandy Cake (A grown up boozy hedgehog stuffed with fruit and nuts!) $20 * Christmas fruit mince pies with an orange pastry $3 ea/$36 dozen * Arancini Balls - Pumpkin & Fetta or Spinach & Mushroom $1.30/$15.60 dozen * Creamy smoked trout pate in a smoked salmon case $10 small (7cm)/$15 large (9cm) * Strawberry pavlova roll $25 We make everything from scratch including our own fruit mince! Our menu selections for next Friday- The soup is another thick hearty number, pearl barley and paprika minestrone (vegan) that comes with pesto and cheddar muffins, which are obviously not vegan!... Creamy marinara pot pie, a yum seafood creation that we can make as a large pie, or in individual serves if you have some suitable dishes, or we can put them in small foil ones if you havent. Coq au vin- a delicious chicken casserole with red wine, onions, bacon and mushrooms, but we can leave out the mushies if you are not keen. If you would like creamy mash with either the coq au vin or the pie, that will be an extra $2 per serve, otherwise prices are as usual- $32 for 4 serves and $48 for 6. And back by popular demand, for dessert, we have our delicious strawberry pav roll for $25 or a bakers dozen of baby yo-yos for $10. We are finding that this is our most popular ordering time. In saying that if you do need a mid week break from cooking please send Liz a text and we are happy to help!! 11.01.2022 Opps, such a lovely afternoon, almost forgot to put our reminder post up. Order by 5pm Wednesday, for pickup Friday. Our menu this week has a few repeats and some newbies.... The soup is a Matt Moran recipe of chicken, sweet corn and asparagus soup with caramelised onion and cheddar muffins Lentil, pumpkin and cashew curry which is vegan/vegetarian Accompanied by naan bread. Both of these are $40 for 4 serves, $60 for 6. Then the parmigiana meatloaf which was a big hit last time we offered it. We did individual ones then, but we think this time we will do them in 2 serve foil containers - unless you have your own small baking dish, which we would prefer of course rather than creating more waste but we know not everyone has a suitable size. These will be $20 for 2 serves but of course you can order more than two serves! If you would like scalloped potatoes with them, they will be an extra $2 per serve. For our yummy afters, flourless chocolate dessert cake, which is gluten free.$28 for a whole cake, $7 for individual serves. 07.01.2022 We did something really exciting last night- our first dinner function since we all went into iso! Was a bit hard getting into it after all these months but we managed to rise to the challenge with delicious food. Thank you to our wonderful hosts who had the BEST kitchen ever to work in, sooooo jealous! The food was served buffet style and on the menu was roasted chicken and vegetable pie, Thai style roasted scotch fillet, cauliflower cake, plus sides of dauphinois potatoes, ...an orange mash and a green salad with fresh bread. Desserts were pear and rhubarb burnt butter torte and a free form chocolate and orange tiramisu. And a thank you to Denise for coming and being the most efficient dishpig ever! If anyone else would like to get some friends or family together for a meal now the restrictions have eased a little, make it easy on yourselves and get us to do all the hard work. We have been absolutely blown away by the support you have all given us over the past few months- who would have thought this damned virus would open up a new aspect of our business? If you want a break from cooking this weekend, these are our selections for this week- Hearty sweet potato soup with spiced chickpeas and Dukkah sprinkled dipping bread Three cheese and spinach cannelloni ( l know we have done this before but a couple of people have asked for a return visit, so here it is) White korma chicken curry with saffron rice... All three will be the usual prices, $32 for 4 serves and $48 for 6. And for dessert, another request, classic lemon tart. On our menu we have another Jamie Oliver recipe (Ruth has got a new book!) Allotment Pie- which is a blend of green lentils, root and other veggies, all with a crunchy sliced potato topping. This is vegetarian/vegan.... Next is a chicken and vegetable casserole with Parmesan dumplings Both are $40 for 4 serves, $60 for 6. Our specialty bread is a leek, cheese and bacon stuffed focaccia ( or we can leave out the bacon for vegetarian) $12 each Our yummy dessert is a whole orange flourless syrup cake, so gluten free. $25 for a whole cake, or $7 per individual Texas muffin size. 01.01.2022 Hello everyone. Enjoying this lovely day l hope, and happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there. Our menu this week has a few repeats and some newbies. The soup is a Matt Moran recipe of chicken, sweet corn and asparagus soup with caramelised onion and cheddar muffins... Lentil, pumpkin and cashew curry which is vegan/vegetarian Accompanied by naan bread. Both of these are $40 for 4 serves, $60 for 6. Then the parmigiana meatloaf which was a big hit last time we offered it. We did individual ones then, but we think this time we will do them in 2 serve foil containers - unless you have your own small baking dish, which we would prefer of course rather than creating more waste but we know not everyone has a suitable size. These will be $20 for 2 serves but of course you can order more than two serves! If you would like scalloped potatoes with them, they will be an extra $2 per serve. For our yummy afters, flourless chocolate dessert cake, which is gluten free.$28 for a whole cake, $7 for individual serves.
