21.01.2022 | SENIOR MEN TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT

20.01.2022 The Sharks’ midfield core has been bolstered with two-way runner Kailem Baker putting pen to paper with Redland-Victoria Point. Despite being just 23, Baker yields a wealth of experience having played in Premierships for both North Launceston in the 2017 Tasmanian State League and more recently with Kenmore in the QFA Division 2. The Tasmanian is yet another name to return to the Bayside where he played 23 NEAFL games for Redland across two seasons, averaging 15 disposals per... game. A strong runner, Baker is a ball-winner but also has a knack for hitting the scoreboard throughout games. Head Coach Phil Carse was said the sky is the limit for Baker this season. We love having Kailem in the group, not only for his hard running on the field but also for his passion and enthusiasm around the group. KJ is a hard running player with a great ability to hit targets around the ground and with his added strength, I think he’ll start to develop different areas of this game in 2021. He adds some real leadership to the group with his voice and instruction. Anthony Wingard

20.01.2022 The Redland-Victoria Point Sharks have bolstered their back six with the signing of prized defender Mitch Stallard. Stallard returns to the Tank following a brief and successful 2019 season with his boyhood club Kenmore, where he played an instrumental part in their QFA Division 2 Premiership triumph. The strong defender, who is also blessed with a strong set of hands and good closing speed, was a member of the Redland Bombers after crossing over from the Western Magpies ahea...d of the 2018 NEAFL season. In all, he played 27 games for the Bombers a tally that likely would have been greater if not for a number of injury plagued years where he averaged 12.1 disposals and 3.4 marks per game. A standout 2019 campaign saw him finish sixth in the Dowling Medal and was duly elevated to the Bombers’ leadership group ahead of the 2020 NEAFL season. Redland Victoria Point Sharks Head Coach Phil Carse said Stallard joins an already competitive group of defenders ahead of the 2021 season. Mitch is a fantastic addition to our squad, not only for what he brings on the field, but also for his leadership around the club, Carse said. Mitch has the ability to play on tall or small opponents and has great speed, strength and uses the ball well when he wins it. We love his attack on the football as it sets a great tone for his teammates. Keep an eye out for all of our latest signing announcements across the summer and all of the news ahead of the 2021 QAFL season on the Redland-Victoria Point Sharks Facebook Page and Instagram (@rvpsharksfc) account. 19.01.2022 | To all our Sharks community...

19.01.2022 One year after transferring to the bayside, former junior 1500m Gold medallist Lachlan McDonald is set to make his mark after opting to join the Redland-Victoria Point Sharks for season 2021. The Labrador product made the switch last summer where he joined Redland but never had the opportunity to don the red following the postponement of the NEAFL season. While he never played for Redland, McDonald joins with a wealth of state league experience under his belt after 26 games f...or Gold Coast as an Under 19 Academy member in 2018 and 2019. Deployed mainly on a wing or across half-back, McDonald averaged 13.1 disposals for the Suns and has proven himself as a dependable endurance runner throughout games. Sharks Coach Phil Carse couldn’t wait for McDonald’s debut for the club after standing out across the preseason thus far. Lachie’s a terrific young man from a great family. He has hit the ground running in our pre-season and has set the tone for the group with this athleticism, winning the club’s pre-Christmas two-kilometre time trial. Macca adds some genuine speed to our line up and is highly skilled by foot. We’re really excited to see him continue to develop in our system and take his game to the next level in 2021 in a variety of roles. Anthony Wingard

10.01.2022 A mercurial talent is set to lace up the boots for Redland-Victoria Point across the 2021 QAFL season with former Lions Academy graduate Darcy Marsh committing to the club. Marsh joins the Sharks as no stranger to the football landscape in Queensland’s south east having risen through the ranks at Coorparoo. His talents saw him play regularly for the Brisbane Lions at NEAFL level where he was a consistent contributor over their undefeated 2019 season. He opened the season with... 25 disposals for the Lions and ended it a premiership player in the Lions’ triumph over Southport while also featuring four times throughout for Redland. A smart ball-user who has the talents to mix it either inside 50 or through the midfield, Marsh could be primed for a role higher up the ground after impressing in the summer months. After luring Marsh to the side last year, Coach Phil Carse can’t wait to see Marsh mix it with the side in 2021. Darcy was set for a huge year for Redland in 2020, so we're extremely happy we get to see that eventuate in 2021. He has a great mix of speed and agility and he's added considerable strength over the past few seasons so we're looking forward to watching him take the next step into the midfield group in 2021. Moosh is a terrific guy to have involved in the club and I can't wait to see him continue to develop over the next few seasons. Keep an eye out for all of our latest signing announcements across the summer and all of the news ahead of the 2021 QAFL season on the Redland-Victoria Point Sharks Facebook Page and Instagram (@rvpsharksfc) account. I've become engaged in the girls/women's program at the Sharks this year with the U17s, and now with 50% of the list moving into Senior footy, I am thrilled to be able to continue with those girls development, Magher reflected. We are passionate about getting Womens Football started at the club and Alfies appointment is a significant step towards continuing to achieve our goal.
