22.01.2022 This Storm Season be PREPARED!! Generators can keep things running when the power goes out, but be careful! They have some special wiring requirements when it comes to your house, ESPECIALLY if you have solar!! It not just a matter of plug it in and away you go!... If you need any advice, speak to your local electrical contractor or call me on 0422 616 212.

21.01.2022 You won't miss this exit sign in an emergency!!! I didn't install it, just noticed it on my travels...

21.01.2022 Monday Morning, Stay Safe everyone! Mind on Task!

20.01.2022 Is this something that you put up with.....a lot of other people do and its dangerous!!...... WOW! the amount of people that have light switches that look like the photos and don't get them fixed is astounding, I mean it still works, right? Once again, Get it fixed! before it breaks further and hurts someone!... Ok, now the two main reasons for not getting it fixed, COST and TIME. It will COST too much, well NO! Just NO!, Most electricians have these in their vans and can Replace a broken switch in minutes, and they are relatively cheap! TIME - Urrrghh "I dont have the time to sit and wait for a contractor" I hear this one ALOT! It only takes minutes to repair, and when i get calls to repair these, I make sure Im on time, and usually do them outside normal business hours to be more convenient!

20.01.2022 Safety Switches - All Home owners/renters be aware... In your switchboard at home, everyone should have a safety switch or two installed, but when did you test them last, I hear most people say "never", Just hit the test button! the little switch will click to off or mid way, then switch it off then back on! This just tests the mechanism to make sure it isn't jammed or deteriorated.

18.01.2022 EXTENSION LEADS - important information Yes we all have them around the house, but how many are damaged or need to be replaced! The Three main problems - as seen in this photo.... 1.Wires hanging out the end of the plug!... 2.A Cut in the Insulation 3. A kink or pinch in the cord ALL of these make the extension lead dangerous to you and your family(normally if a sparky sees this kind of cord they will cut the ends off so no one can use it again), either stop using it and throw it out, or call you local sparky to come have a look at it.

17.01.2022 When do you buy insurance? Before you need it! - That's what most people say, but most houses still don't have a generator input! When a storm or cyclone comes and your power drops out, it takes two minutes to setup your little generator and switch it on. Although the energy companies are quiet good at getting power restored, if they cant get into a spot to fix the lines, the power could be out for days.... Just my thought for the day! p.s. if you would like a generator input installed in your house, give me a call

15.01.2022 Yep I see the problem! You installed the snake in the wrong spot!

15.01.2022 NO D.I.Y. Electrical! To home renovators! DON'T RISK IT! Just to save a few bucks. Get all your electrical done by a qualified electrical contractor! SAFE for you and safe for your family!

15.01.2022 Circuit breakers at YOUR house... If you have had to reset your circuit breaker more than once, this may be an indication that something is wrong with the wiring. Also many old homes may only have small capacity wiring (because back 20 years ago we didn't have the electronic gizmo's we have today). Call a sparky and have him check it out before it gets worse and costs you an arm and a leg.

13.01.2022 Found this in the roof of a customers house! Please get all halogen lights checked!

12.01.2022 Hey everyone! While I'm on my honey moon, remember to stay safe and if you see anything dodgy or broken with your electrical stuff, don't touch it, call a sparky! It could save you life...!

12.01.2022 All loaded and ready to go!

10.01.2022 Hey every one, if you have halogen lights... Please please change them... I've been to so many houses now with burnt wiring. Change them with LED lights!!

10.01.2022 OK OK! my last post was a warning about fluoro's!, well today i spoke with a customer, his fluoro made a big 'pop' and a spark and smelled like burning.....I didnt catch that one before it shorted out and tripped the breaker....

09.01.2022 FIRE! well almost. This was at a customers house, they were watching tv when they begun to smell a burning smell! I quickly identified where the smell was coming from! IF YOU HAVE ANY OLD FLUORO LIGHTS.... 1. Change them for new ones 2. At least get them checked by an electrician! I caught this one in time...... Check yours now! See more

08.01.2022 Being in Australia, I am actually really happy we have strict electrical laws! Here is what third world country electrical looks like in Bali

07.01.2022 Are you power points over loaded?? This is how to check.. Now you may think that if you have four plug spaces you can just plug four items in.......WRONG! For most of us, there isn't an power point where we need it or there are only two plug spaces and we need more, so we get a power board, start plugging things in, and before you know it, we add another. ... By overloading that one power point, it may not trip if its right on the limit of the circuit breaker, but it will get hot. Before you need to reach for the power board, ask yourself, are you going to be using power there all the time, if yes get your Sparky to come out and put some more power points in!!

06.01.2022 HOUSE RENOVATORS Please read - Although the Electrical may look simple enough, with those three little wires and everything colour coded, there is a lot of knowledge that goes in before we install those. Things such as projected load, Circuit protection Level (I.e. RCD's & Circuit breakers) and how the cable is run to make it safe. The Electrical side of any renovation should be handled by a qualified Electrician. NO D.I.Y.

06.01.2022 Cairns Home Owners/ Renters this could save you hundreds of Dollars.... This outlet is clearly damaged, I have been to house where the owner said,"yeah I know its dangerous, but I didn't want to call someone out for just one power point!, I was waiting till a few had broken before calling an electrician". (His reluctance to call an electrician, cost him quite a bit as he was renting the house and had to go to court) OWNERS - Replace these as soon as possible before someone a...ccidentally sticks something in there (i.e. kids). RENTERS - If there are outlets like this in the house/unit/room your renting, let your land lord know in writing. They Must be fixed by law! I can supply an install these in a matter of minutes....don't wait till someone gets hurt...
