25.01.2022 SUPER GUARANTEE AMNESTY ENDS 7 SEP If you have received a letter from the ATO regarding the amnesty and don’t know what to do call us. This is your last chance to apply for the super guarantee amnesty to catch up on past unpaid super, without incurring penalties or paying administration fees. It also means you will be able to claim a tax deduction for this super, which would ordinarily be non deductible when paid late. The ATO are offering payment plans for catch-up super ...payments. 24.01.2022 It's not the 1st February we all expected with happy kids skipping off to school and the work weeks back into full swing. But it is what it is and we will all do our part. RWK Bunbury and Dunsborough offices have moved our awesome team back to working remotely this week. Although we won't see you in person, our phones, emails and zoom meetings are here to support you in whatever you need and any concerns you may have.... Remember to think big this week, bigger than just you, and remember that at the other end of that ticket you didn't get to use or that gym membership you can't use or that deposit you lost...is a small business who may have the door closed and is still paying wages to local people. If you have any clients with big milestones such as this, we encourage you to organise something. A few hundred dollars is not a lot for clients that have supported your business for such a long time as this.

21.01.2022 Not all bookkeepers are created equal. The quality of your data entry is one of the most critical parts of business. Get it right and you should save greatly in accounting fees! Your bookkeeper should be a BAS Agent, should be certified in both Xero and MYOB; and keep an eye out for a bookkeeper that is a member of the ICB. There are so many changes in payroll and accounting that your bookkeeper needs to be across and if they aren't keeping up with the times, they might be getting it wrong. Add to what is mentioned, that there is apparently about 400,000 Aussies on JobKeeper doing nothing for their employer and we will see a very significant amount of these people let go by employers and their income drop in the next month too. 18.01.2022 What a year the 2020 financial year has been. I think it’s one many accountants, bookkeepers and small business are happy to shut the door on! With every press announcement came a scramble of deadlines and "how the hell do we actually do that?!" moments. Every public holiday in the West coincided with a ‘big legislative change’ in the East. We have scrambled to be across what we need to advise and stay on top of. With the usual EOY clean up, STP finalisation and payroll clos...e off we have over 100 businesses we are helping with monthly JobKeeper for July. Today we took a breath, and I am grateful. The word comes from the Russian "troe" meaning 'set of three' and means 'a group of three people working together, especially in an administrative or managerial capacity'. We chose this 'business goddess' as a bold representation for our office as we wanted it to demonstrate the BALANCE OF BUSINESS Give and take... Employee eligibility for JobKeeper payments will now (from 3 August 2020) be tested at 1 July 2020 rather than the original test date at 1 March 2020. If you are an employer currently receiving JobKeeper, this could mean you have additional eligible employees. ... These eligible employees will need to be provided with JobKeeper nomination forms to complete and receive minimum payments of $1,500 for the fortnight ending 16 August 2020 under the "one in, all in" rule. 10.01.2022 Any COVID relief still available by way of JobKeeper payments has finished and with it, any leeway from the Australian Taxation Office for debt. We have recently been flooded with calls from the ATO for clients that may only owe a few hundred dollars or are a few days late on lodging their BAS. If you have been putting tax in the "too hard" basket it is time to drag it out, assess where you are at and make a plan! The ATO are still generous with payment plans but you need t...o be proactive in talking to them. Fines and interest are back on the table for anything overdue and you can expect them to be calling!
