25.01.2022 INTEREST RATES ON HOLD AT DECEMBER MEETING The Reserve Bank of Australia has left the official cash rate at 2.0 per cent at the December meeting. The Board will next meet in February 2016 and the possibility is still there for a further cut.

13.01.2022 INTEREST RATES ON HOLD FOR AUGUST As expected, the Reserve Bank left the official cash rate at a record low of 2.0 per cent at the August meeting.
13.01.2022 The Prime Minister and Treasurer yesterday announced a new $130 billion JobKeeper payment that is expected to help over 6 million Australian workers. Under the JobKeeper Payment, businesses impacted by the Coronavirus will be able to access a wage subsidy from the Government to continue paying their employees. A subsidy of $1,500 per fortnight per eligible employee, administered by the ATO, will be able to be claimed from 30 March 2020 for a maximum of 6 months for eligible e...mployers. Eligible employers are those with a turnover below $1 billion that have experienced a reduction in turnover of more than 30% relative to a comparable period 12 months ago (of at least a month). Please note there is a separate test for employers with turnover greater than $1 billion. Sole traders and self employed individuals with an ABN, and not-for-profits (including charities) that meet the turnover tests are eligible for the JobKeeper payment. An eligible employee must have been in an employment relationship at 1 March 2020 and is currently employed by the employer (including those who have been stood down). Employers can register their interest in applying for the JobKeeper Payment via ato.gov.au The first payment will be received by employers from the ATO in the first week of May. We will provide further details as they come hand.

If you’re eligible for the Jobkeeper wage subsidy you must enrol between 20 April - 30 April via your Business Portal or via your hard working tax agent (Us ).... This is in addition to the Registration of Interest you may have completed with the ATO in early April. Please ensure you are correctly enrolled prior to 30 April if you wish to claim the subsidy for wages paid in April. You can use the travel card at certain retailers across Australia to pay for fuel, taxis and pre-booked NSW Trainlink Regional trains and coaches. To be eligible you must be:... an age pensioner with a valid Pensioner Concession Card; or a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card; and living in a designated regional area of NSW outside of Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong. Note Lake Macquarie City Council is considered a regional area.
