19.01.2022 Working with a WGC member, talking about a variety of ways to play shots around the greens. - Reducing handle drag - Slowing down ball speed - Loft control... - Radius control - Learning about the factors that go into controlling distance Really fun session with very little technical information given out to get the result. Optimising the learning environment for the student to learn on their own.

17.01.2022 Working with Wayne this morning using external cues to apply a few changes. Start it to the right vs start it to the left was the verbal instruction with a s...imple stick or pool noodle out in front as the external focus. Here are some differences in the draw vs fade swing: Draw: - Club moves more inside during takeaway - Fraction more arm depth at the top - Club more inside hands at club parallel (downswing) - Ball starts right of target Fade: - Club moves less inside than draw swing during takeaway - Less arm depth at the top compared to draw swing - Club in line with hands at club parallel (downswing) - Ball starts online or slightly left of target All these movements and positions happen subconsciously when trying to hit a particular shape. Some players may need more internal cues and some need external. Do you make changes best with external cues or internal cues?

16.01.2022 Good to have Daniel back in action again. Some time off caused a few old habits to creep back in but we are committed to improvement for as long as it takes. Us...ing the gravity fit T-Pro for posture awareness and body rotation. Working on a few drills and feels to increase depth in the body and get the hands higher and more in front. See more

15.01.2022 Been working with this beginner golfer for a month now and we are making great strides on the golf swing. Heath has a typical beginner golfers pattern where hi...s body movements were that of someone who would just throw the body, hands and arms at the ball in an attempt to get under or lift the ball for it to get airborne. There was a lot of lateral movement off the ball, a lot of loss of posture movements and his centre of mass would move way to far to the trail side throughout the backswing, making it extremely difficult to control his low point. We spoke about how the body should move to create low point control. A simple drill with an alignment stick through the belt loops and one across the shoulders placed awareness on how the lower and upper body moves in the golf swing. This kept him from moving his body to far off the ball in a lateral motion, and also placed awareness on how to manage rotation and tilts in the golf swing. We also worked on a basic grip in order for the hands and arms to function effectively to compliment the turn he was making, and also placing awareness on his arm structure while rotating in the backswing. A few training aids we have used in the month have been: 1. Gravity Fit (Movement awareness & connection) 2. Tour Striker Smart Ball (Radius control) 3. Alignment sticks (Movement & impact) 4. Force pedals (Pressure shifts) 5. Superspeed sticks (Wrist movements and speed) Heath’s ball striking is night and day compared to our first session. Some drills or homework I have given him are: 1. At home mirror work to see and feel movements 2. Slow motion swings to really feel movement 3. Limited balls at range. 20-30 balls max, each ball with purpose Exited to continue the journey

12.01.2022 Couple of weeks in working with Adam. Few changes in how the body moves in the backswing and how that influences the club and arm structure. The swing a few we...eks ago was under rotated and had a lot of loop in the downswing in order to shallow the club. This got the club stuck to far behind the body and caused a lot of hang back, resulting in blocks, hooks and pulls. Over the past few weeks, we have worked on creating more rotation during the initial takeaway which has had a flow in effect at the top of the swing. Body is more rotated and arms deeper. This gets the club and body in a good position to help get the club in a good spot during the downswing and impact

07.01.2022 Playing some holes with Dominic Sharp this morning... I reckon he’s got more speed in him too... 128mph club head speed & 180mph ball speed sounds different...

07.01.2022 I would like to sincerely thank everyone who I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the past 12 months. It’s been yet another fantastic year, helping you a...ll achieve your goals. I hope you are all enjoying the game more and I thank you for your patience throughout this strange year. I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday and I look forward to continuing the journey in 2021. I’ll be back coaching on the 29th December 2020. Merry Christmas from Ryan & Axle

06.01.2022 Few swings from WGC Junior this morning. Working on his grip which is something I don’t do very often. Grips, wrist angles and body pivots play a huge roll in h...ow we deliver the club. Sometimes a tweak in how the player holds the club can help multiple areas and movements improve... We kill 5 birds with 1 stone (PS: Please don’t kill birds with stones)

05.01.2022 Little bit of indoor work during a rainy day. Perfect environment to work on our putting stroke and talk about the importance of setup and it’s influence on sta...rt line and distance control Changing posture by adding more bend from the pelvis, which allowed the elbows to sit closer to the rib cage, allowing the torso to take more control of the stroke. An improvement in start line, face contact, stroke mechanics and movement.

04.01.2022 Short game practise session sold out in days! Come and join the putting session and learn how to practice effectively! This is NOT a lesson... it is strictly pr...actice. I will set the drills and tasks for you to do and help you find ways to improve your putting so you will be able to transfer your practice to the golf course. See more

02.01.2022 Group coaching program week 1/6, working through understanding their own individual shot patterns/dispersions. Next week will be on course playing from a varie...ty of distances and learning how to play effectively using their shot patterns to pick the correct shot and targets. Some takeaways from these players: - Understanding that a straight shot is unlikely - Allowing for your shot pattern - Managing expectations Looking forward to next week

02.01.2022 Using the Gravity Fit T-Pro to place awareness on connection during the takeaway. Disconnecting the arms away from the torso during the takeaway (for the major...ity of golfers) usually results in the player having to reconnect at some point in the swing, and if not timed correctly, causes the golfer to create depth late in the golf swing via to much side bend of the torso in an attempt to shallow the club, causing excessive flipping/club face rotation. Very timing dependent. See more

02.01.2022 Lovely changes in club face, club path, wrist angles, turf interaction & ball flight...

01.01.2022 We often post all the GOOD LOOKING swings and results of our players, but this post is more than just a change in look, it’s about a change in concept that ...everyone can learn from. Here I have a student who struggles to control his distance and contact when it comes to short game. This is why: Problem: - Short backswing doesn’t allow for enough energy to be produced into the ball - The energy then comes from the player needing to sharply accelerate the club to apply speed - This applies to much handle drag and causes all sorts of problems - Hands in the follow through becomes excessively high. An indication that the player has applied acceleration in the incorrect area Solution: - longer backswing allows the club head to generate enough speed necessary on the way down - The player no longer needs to add excessive acceleration to the handle, they can let the club head fall and reduce handle drag - Hands in the follow through will finish lower, due to the limited sharp acceleration through impact There are obviously other issues at play here that can help improve this players short game even more. Ensuring they understand correct concepts is key.
