09.01.2022 For all the ladies out there ;) Track 9, PRETTY WOMAN!! I really enjoy playing this song, especially the bridge and the alternate verse arrangement. Like most songs, when I go to arrange a tune I sit there with guitar in hand and keep trying different ideas. And then sudenly the fingers slip and something magical kinda just happens. 09.01.2022 The first version of SWEET CHILD O MINE I heard was on a guitar songbook CD. The CD was completely instrumentation (no vocal melodies) and contained other great songs like 'Sunshine Of Your Love', 'Lenny', 'Crazy Train' & 'Iron Man'. I remember the day vividly. It was a day off school and I must of played the intro riff for a good hour or two before I was able to piece it together. Once I had that lead line flowing I am sure that is all I played for the rest of the day, over and over and over and over..... :) That was a good day! Enjoy track 8 on the album LAYLA. 09.01.2022 HOTEL CALIFORNIA - Track 2 from the album 'LAYLA'. One of the many classics written by the Eagles, 'Hotel California' is still to this day a crowd favourite. With the instantly recognisable guitar intro, the EPIC guitar solo and then followed by the famous dual guitar harmony to close out the song. Truly an outstanding display of musicianship. My folks were trying to convince me to take some guitar lessons and I remember my sister saying; "Yeh you could learn songs like 'Sultans of Swing'. That'ld be cool!"
