03.01.2022 Good morning Ballarat, We understand people are feeling a lot of different emotions due to the circumstances that face us all at this time. There have been lovely notes of support left in the stores, drawings from children, emails and phone calls thanking our staff for the great work they are doing. However there have been a few people who think its an excuse to abuse (verbally or physically) our staff or other customers. This type of behavior will NOT be tolerated. Offender...s will be referred to Victoria Police. The gaps in stock levels and the rules that have been put in place are NOT our staffs fault. The customer who reminds you to keep a safe distance is asking you to do so because the government is asking us all to do that to keep us safe. Theres no need to blame anyone as we are all in this together and doing our best! Supermarkets right across Australia are all trying to restore their levels of stock, hence their is a HUGE demand on suppliers to produce stock and get it to the various warehouses around the country. To get the unusually large quantity of products from the warehouses to all the stores, you need more trucks. It really is a TEAM effort from everyone in the supply chain to get the stock levels back to what customers are used to. We hope that paints the big picture for you as to what is happening and why you might not be able to access some of your favorite brands. We would like to thank our local and national suppliers along with the team at IGA Australia including the wonderful truck drivers at Dyers Distribution, who are working hard to replenish our stock. Thank you to our fabulous team at our stores, our meat facility team, our support office team and our management team who all continue to work tirelessly to ensure our customers are cared for.
