25.01.2022 The RYDA workshop made it’s debut in Hastings and Napier in NZ last week! We had a great time talking about staying safe on the road with Flaxmere College, Hastings Girls' High School, Tamatea High School and Napier girl's high school. It truly was a community effort with Eastern District Police, Fire and Emergency NZ, Brain Injury Hawke's Bay, Stortford Lodge Rotary and Rotary Club of Ahuriri all contributing to the running of the days. The Hastings and Napier Rapid Relief T...eam NZ cooked up some cracker sausage sizzles for all of the students in the lunchbreaks and Hawke's Bay Toyota loaned us a brand new Corolla for us to demonstrate car safety features and stopping distances. A big thanks to our partners BOC South Pacific, NZ Steel and Bridgestone New Zealand, as well as local sponsors One Foundation Limited, Trust House, Eastern & Central Community Trust, COGS Kahungunu ki Heretaunga and Stortford Lodge Rotary.

23.01.2022 It's Road Safety Week in Australia and just as we did in NZ, we, along with our major partners are celebrating the achievements of some very special individuals and groups with the presentation of our Annual Supporting Excellence in Road Safety Awards. We're kicking off the week with the MTAA Super - Facilitator Award. This year, MTAA Super acknowledged the fantastic, Anthony Cope. Anthony has been working with RYDA students across Sydney and in the Illawarra region for around 9 years. He has a special knack for personalising every conversation and drawing from each student's own experience. Congratulations to Anthony and thank you to MTAA Super for recognising and celebrating Anthony's invaluable contribution to young drivers and their passengers.

20.01.2022 We're down in Taup for 3 days with Taupo nui-a-Tia College, Tauhara College Taupo, Reporoa College and Tongariro School at Bruce McLaren Motorsport park running #RYDA. Lots of learning going on plus good fun during #RoadSafetyWeek. The town has also got involved with their #ILovetaup sign lit up in yellow and a light display, called "the Ripple Effect", on the lake each evening representing the 6 people who died on Taup roads last year. A big thanks to our partners BOC South Pacific, NZ Steel and Bridgestone New Zealand as well as local sponsors Lake Taupo Rotary, Geyser Community Foundation, COGS Tongariro and BayTrust. #YellowRibbon

17.01.2022 To celebrate #YellowRibbon #RoadSafetyWeek week in Australia we asked some of our #RYDA students to share with us their hopes and dreams for when they leave school. They reminded us just how important it is that we all play a part in making sure the road to their future is a safe one. Thank you to our partners for helping to make that happen - BOC South Pacific, Toyota Australia, Bridgestone Australia, Spirit Super, Boral and of course, the hard working Rotarians from Clubs around the country (Rotary Down Under). A huge thanks to amazing, thoughtful students from Carlingford High School - after meeting you, we can’t help but feel that the future is in good hands.

15.01.2022 It's a big statement but we're making it - we've got the BEST. PARTNERS. EVER! Not only has their financial support allowed us to keep road safety education as priority learning during the global pandemic but their involvement has never begun or ended with a cheque. Each and every one of our partners believes strongly in a culture of safety and is actively involved in making our roads a safer place. All of them are busy promoting road safety weeks in New Zealand and Australia. The team from BOC South Pacific in New Zealand held a 'wear yellow to work day' and the staff jumped right on board. Thanks to everyone at BOC for shining their light on such an important issue. #NRSW #yellowribbon #wearyellowtowork #RYDA #DriveSoOthersSurvive

15.01.2022 Each day of Road Safety Week promotes a special theme - tomorrow it's Cyclists and Motorcyclists. It's fitting, then, that today we announce the winner of Toyota Australia's Supporting Excellence in Road Safety - Community Award which has been presented to the Bass Coast Cycle Challenge. The award celebrates community efforts to bring RYDA's messaging to local students. Since 2013, the team from Bass Coast Cycle Challenge have raised over $50,000 through their annual cycli...ng event to make RYDA available to all Year 11 students from the South Gippsland and Bass Coast regions. The event not only raises funds but raises awareness of the importance of road safety as around 500 riders don their RYDA jerseys and complete the challenge riding towards the finish line in the coastal township of Inverloch. There, riders and their families are invited to visit event sponsors and supporters including a booth set up by RYDA with the help of the local Toyota dealer. The Bass Coast Cycle Challenge is a true community event and would not be possible without the support of many key people and groups, incredible volunteers, sponsors and local businesses. Congratulations and thank you to the team from BCCC #RYDA #NRSW #yellowribbon #slowdown #moveover #ametrematters See more

11.01.2022 We're continuing to celebrate the enormous efforts of individuals and groups in supporting the RYDA program in their communities. Today we announce the Supporting Excellence in Road Safety - BOC South Pacific Champion Award. Every year, BOC honour one Rotary volunteer with their Champion Award, recognizing those who have gone above and beyond for a number of years. This year, as we celebrate 20 years of working with Rotary to provide the program across Australia, we could...n't nominate just one person for the honour. Instead, BOC decided that they wanted to celebrate each and every Rotary volunteer by presenting around 50 Champion Awards to all our RYDA organsing committees. It is a fitting decision in a year that has seen Rotary working extra hard to re-arrange workshops around the pandemic, deliver incursions and work with RSE to ensure all schools had access to our RYDA 5.0 at a Social Distance program online. Once again, our Rotary volunteers have shown that working together, our service Clubs make a significant contribution to the well-being of our communities. Congratulations and thank you to all our wonderful Rotary volunteers. Rotary Down Under #NRSW #Thankyou #YellowRibbon #RYDA See more

02.01.2022 Today it's all about our schools. Every year, Bridgestone Australia celebrate the commitment of schools and teachers to making road safety priority learning for their students. This year, Bridgestone are honouring Nazareth Catholic Community College with their Supporting Excellence in Road Safety - School Award. Nazareth have been participating in RYDA for nearly a decade. Beyond the RYDA workshop, the school adopts best practices in integrating road safety into their sch...ool curriculum, something that is encourage and supported by RYDA's comprehensive kit of teacher resource learning materials. This approach leads to a strong culture of road safety among students - which is evidenced by the great level of engagement and enthusiam shown by students at the workshop. Congratulations to the staff and students at Nazareth and a special thanks to the team of Rotarians, led by Colin Williams at Rotary Club of Charles Sturt Grange who make the program available in the Seaton, SA area every year.
