20.01.2022 Detectives have released CCTV vision as investigations continue into a robbery at a West Ryde fast food restaurant last week. Police were called to the restaur...ant at the intersection of Marsden and Victoria roads about 1.20am on Thursday (9 July 2020), after staff were threatened by a man armed with a knife. One employee, a 19-year-old man, was grabbed around the neck by the man who demanded cash. The man stole cash and he was last seen running north on Marsden Road. The staff member was shaken but uninjured and alerted police. Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene. As inquiries continue, investigators have now released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries. The man depicted is described as being aged between 25 and 30, between 160 and 170cm tall, of average build and olive skin. He is seen wearing a grey hoodie over his head. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. 11.01.2022 It is devastating to hear that last night here near Ryde, in our local streets, at about 10-10.30pm, a young man was assaulted by a group of men without provoca...tion. They beat him up pretty badly. The family have appealed for anyone who saw anything relating to this incident, in or around Prince Edward St Gladesville last night, to please call Gladesville Police - 9879 9699 - and speak to Constable Devan. Apparently, during the attack, they were shirtless. There were about 5 of them who assaulted this young man but there may have been more of them in the wider group. Perhaps businesses along Victoria Road, Gladesville road at Hunters Hill or Pittwater Road business precincts may have seen this group - please check to see if anyone saw these men. 05.01.2022 RYDE POLICE AREA COMMAND Wednesday 29 April 2020 ** Cherrybrook - Man dies following home invasion - An elderly man has died in hospital after he and his wife were assaulted during a home invasion at Cherrybrook overnight.... Emergency services were called to Tallowwood Avenue just before 12.30am on Wednesday 29 April 2020, after reports two men had forced entry to the home. The men, who had their faces concealed, threatened the couple before assaulting them. Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended and located the occupants, an 86-year-old man and 84-year-old woman, with serious head injuries. Both were taken to Westmead Hospital where the man later died due to his injuries. His wife is believed to be in a stable condition. An investigation into the incident is continuing, with local police being assisted by the State Crime Commands Homicide Squad. * Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. The public is reminded not to report crime via NSW Police social media pages. ** Gladesville - Possess Prohibited Drug About 1:00am on Tuesday the 22nd of April 2020, police were patrolling along Victoria Rd Gladesville, when they observed a male to be riding a bicycle not wearing a helmet. Police stopped and spoke with the man. After further checks and questioning by police, the man made admissions to police that he had cannabis on him. Police subsequently searched him and located a plastic resealable bag containing cannabis, in his front pocket. The 28-year-old man from Ryde was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for possess prohibited drug, and will appear in Burwood Local Court on the 20 July, 2020. ** Ryde - Mid Range PCA On Friday 24 April 2020, police stopped a vehicle on Colston Rd Ryde, as a result of a traffic incident. Whilst speaking with the male driver, he appeared that he may have been under the effects of alcohol, Police conducted a breath test, and the man returned a positive result. He was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station to undergo a breath analysis. The man returned a reading of 0.119 and was issued Field Court Attendance Notice for Mid Range PCA. He was also issued with a Licence suspension notice. The 51-year-old year old man from Mortlake, will appear in Burwood Local Court on the 20 July, 2020.
