23.01.2022 Do you remember the day when the Prime Minister Kevin Rudd visited our Ryde Uniting Church Little Learners and English Class in 2013? Multicultural infrastructure funding was granted by the government on the day and we were able to refurbish our meeting room :) Our English Class leading by Rev Cho and Ian Hardwick and Maxim Little Learners by Miss Helen are still on every Wednesday from 10 am - 12 pm!!

17.01.2022 No Sunday Service from 9th August for a while. Here is the letter from our minister Deok Hee Cho. Hi everyone, how are you all? I hope you are all well. Today I am sorry to inform you that we are going back to online service from this Sunday (9th August) due to Australia's heightened safety concerns. Our Synod and Presbytery strongly recommend we go back to online service. We had done online service for a few months till the end of June and I am sure you know how we organise... and run and enjoy the service. Our Sunday services are recorded every Saturday 10.30 am at Ryde church and uploaded every Sunday at the same time (10.30 am). This Saturday Suhon is not available whole day so we are recording our service on Sunday 10.30 am and uploading at 3pm on the same day. This is only for this Sunday. No matter where you are, please join in our online service every Sunday with your mobile phone or computer and let us enjoy our worship starting at 10:30, singing and praying and listening the Word of God together (You don't need to sing with humming any more and wear mask ). The service will be held outside in the play ground area downstairs of the church at 10.30 am on Sunday 30th August. ... The service won't be a formal service, maybe casual and bit shorter service and will continue morning tea. 11.01.2022 RUC Zoom Caf'e 7pm 23rd Wednesday Hi everyone, as I mentioned last week I will invite you all for "ZOOM Cafe". It is this Wednesday at 7pm. ZOOM is a meeting application which many people and groups and churches and organisations in Australia use today in the COVID 19 situation. They meet and talk and worship and have fellowship in ZOOM. At the last church council meeting in August, our church leaders talked about using this application for our Sunday worship, Bible study, ...meetings, and fellowship etc. Before we start doing this service, we need to learn and experience ZOOM how to use it, how to communicate with others through ZOOM. 09.01.2022 Hi everyone! Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are in the season of Easter and this Sunday is the 6th Sunday in this season. Last Sunday was Children's Sunday and this Sunday is Mother's Day. ... Some parts of our service will be led by our mothers (Prayers, Bible readings etc..). We were having Mothers Choir this Sunday. However unfortunately, we can't do that due to the COVID 19 restrictions started from yesterday 5 pm till 12:01 am on Monday 10 May. We are not allowed singing in our worship too (I hope only this Sunday). We need to wear masks during worship. We will follow this guidelines for the safety of our community. 08.01.2022 According to very strong recommendation for Uniting Church in the Synod of NSW.ACT, Ryde Uniting Church is suspending in person worship for the time being. We will have online form of worship using YouTube, and will notify when our church council decision be made. Below is the guideline form Synod of NSW.ACT... ... We therefore propose the following strategies, on the understanding that they will contribute to lessening the risk, slowing the rate of spread of the virus in our communities. 1. Support Church Councils of Uniting Church congregations who have already decided to suspend worship in their congregation; 2. Strongly urge that Church Councils of Uniting Church congregations immediately decide to suspend all worship services as from today 3. Strongly urge that Church Councils of all Uniting church congregations (a) decide to suspend immediately all other church activities in their premises and (b) decide to suspend immediately the use of their church facilities for all community users; 4. Note that many church facilities are the base for community activities which are relied upon by the most vulnerable people in our communities (emergency relief, food banks, and the like), and strongly urge that Church Councils in this situation adopt clear infection control protocols which will be available from Albert Olley in Uniting Resources on [email protected] or 0404 801 191; 5. Strongly recommend that Ministers and Pastors, Elders and Church Councils (a) give active consideration to ways that they can foster social contact amongst their people in safe ways, (b) encourage people within the congregation to maintain fellowship and mutual support by other means: Australia Post, telephone, internet, Facebook, online resources (Saltbush, Insights, Facebook,etc), and (c) note that Adrian Drayton, (Synod Communications [email protected]) is collating the various options available for online activities as a church; 6.
