18.01.2022 For our members, Monday Interclub Triples re-commences on Monday 9th November. As last season, we will be competing against Sorrento Bowls Club. Games start at 12.30pm. On Monday 9th we will be playing at Rye.... Team nomination sheets are in the glass fronted noticeboard outside the Match Office. We want plenty of Rye teams to nominate and enjoy some friendly competition against Sorrento!

14.01.2022 Close but no Cigar!!!!!!!!! Rye Division 2 side put up a very valiant effort in a narrowing loss to a very strong Rosebud CC side. Leading up to the break Rye was in front on the main scoreboard. However, with about 3-4 ends to play before the break Rye had unfortunately lost their lead. Main score board scores at the break were Rosebud CC 30 and Rye 28.... After the break a very determined Rosebud CC came out and very soon increased their lead on the main board to about 13 shots up. However, the Rye side kept plugging away and slowly narrowed the margin. When the final bowl was bowled there was only 7 shots difference between the two sides. Rosebud victorious with 56 shots and Rye with 49 shots. All players in side 2 are to be commended for their great effort in not only reaching the grand final but also for their efforts during a very trying year. Well done side 2.

09.01.2022 Huge congratulations to Rye Bowls Club Division 2 side for having a fantastic win over a very strong City of Frankston side in the Semi Final. Rye won 57 to 53 shots after being down at the half time break 31 to 33. Rye now will play Sorrento in the Preliminary final on 10th April with venue yet to be determined. Good luck to all players selected to play in the Preliminary Final

Then we chat to the inspirational ‘smiling assassin’ Luke Protopapas, what a great and genuine person he is. And of course what would a show be without a chin wag with our good friend from BV/BA the ‘gentle giant’ Jimmy Whitehead.
