25.01.2022 UPDATE (30/6/20 @ 2.15PM) Staff redundancies refers ONLY to paid staff members. It does NOT refer to our volunteers who we look forward to their continued support when we reopen. For any further clarification, please contact the house. The Board of Governance for Rye Community House would like to extend the following communication to the local community. The employment of a new House Manager in December 2019 provided the opportunity to review our systems, processes and s...tructures. This has identified several concerns including industrial relations and financial issues. We are working with our funding bodies, DHHS and the Mornington Peninsula Shire to address these matters. Closure of the House over the last 3 months has provided the opportunity for an in-depth review of these areas which has come to a head and resulted in the need to restructure our administration and address our finances. Unfortunately, this has resulted in some staff redundancies. We look forward to continuing to welcome community members when we re-open for Term 3 which we hope will be Monday 13th July (dependent upon Coronavirus situation and with restrictions in place as required) whilst working on improving our systems and processes to ensure our structure supports the continued growth of our programs being offered. 22.01.2022 Regrettably, the Community House is unable to reopen for Term 3, as we had hoped. As per directives, we will be closed for 6 weeks. 13.01.2022 LAST CHANCE TO GRAB THESE! Do you know anyone who would be interested in a nice desk set for home/office study? I have two available (small donation to the Community House appreciated). Both are 160 x 70 x 75 (h). Both come with under-desk filing/drawers plus an office chair. You would need to organise collection from the Community House. Contactless pick-up will be arranged. 11.01.2022 CALL FOR BUTTONS! One of our fabulous volunteers is sewing like crazy making scrubs, headbands and masks for wherever they are needed. She needs 4-holed buttons sized between a 5 and 10 cent piece. Any colours will do. Also, if you have any elastic, that would be fantastic. Donations can be dropped off at Rye Community House/posted in the letter box at the front if preferred. Thanks!

09.01.2022 As per government directions, Rye Community House remains closed under the Victorian Stage 4 restrictions, for the next 6 weeks. The link below provides detailed information regarding businesses permitted to operate, working permits, exercise and also a useful map to help you identify the boundaries that you are safe to move within. We are so sad that this is the current situation but understand the necessity for them. Parents of children attending Rye Kidz will be emaile...d today advising of how they can confirm they are eligible for their children to attend. 06.01.2022 As a Be Connected Partner, we can help you discover how being on-line can add new skills and experiences to your life. Come and learn the basics of computers, laptops and mobile phones. Working through this FREE course will also teach you things like email, MyGov, internet and how to upload photos. You will need to attend our REGISTRATION DAY on TUESDAY 5th JANUARY 2021 from 10am at Rye Community House. Classes will start the week beginning 11th January 2021. 04.01.2022 We are delighted to advise that the Community House will reopen for classes from Monday 11th January 2021. Some restrictions may apply to class sizes and some classes will not start until later in January. From Monday 4th JANUARY 2021 we will be open for members to come and register for classes and renew their membership. It is important that registration is completed before classes commence.
