21.01.2022 Can you help Amanda Rowe identify these photos? Amanda says: "I'm sharing these photos in the hope of identifying some of the people. They are from the collecti...on of my grandfather, Lindsay Wilson, and they are taken in Kandos. Many of the photos appear to be taken in front of the Railway Hotel, which is where my grandfather was living while he worked at the cement works in Charbon. My guess is that they were taken either in the late 1920s or the early 1930s and the men could be people from the town and/or colleagues, who may or may not have been from Kandos. It's a long shot, but just wondering if any of the men can still be identified." See more

02.01.2022 If you are looking for an interesting new place to visit on Sundays in the summer holidays, check out the Rylstone Cottage Museum. The Cottage Museum is housed... in a simple 1890s weatherboard home built for local blacksmith, James Nash. The house was saved from demolition by RDHS and moved from its original site at the Rylstone Showground to its present position in the Bridge View Inn Precinct in 1984. The museum displays focus on domestic and rural life. They include costume, rustic furniture, kitchen and small farming tools, schooling and musical instruments. Also on display are photographs of local pioneers, the town and district encompassed by the old Rylstone Shire boundary. The museum is open on Sundays, entry costs are: $3 adults and $2 concession You can find out more here: http://www.rylstonehistory.org.au/cottage-museum/
