22.01.2022 Checkout Matthew Ball showing his favourite defence against a push kick. Let us know if you have a variation in the comments. #martialarts #muaythai #ZDK #smac #mma #smacgym #bjma
21.01.2022 WOW! As I looked back on 2020 and thought about BJMA being 50yrs strong, I realised it has been more than 25yrs since I walked through the door of Kaizen Dojos in Shepparton. That night I met Mick Clark and began my journey with BJMA never thinking that it would have such an impact on my life. Mick taught me more than martial arts. Without realising it, he taught a boy what it is to be a man and demonstrated what it is to be a good Dad.... After more than 25yrs Kyoshi Mick continues to have an influence on the varied styles I have trained. Photos ranging from Thailand Muay Thai tour 2019 back to the 90's
20.01.2022 Don't exaggerate your blocks or defences, an economical guard is so important, especially for a new fighter. Let us know if this is how you train? #bjma #SMAC #muaythai #BOXING #ZDK #martialarts #mma #smacgym #upskilling #somerville
20.01.2022 Here is a great clip of some great variations on chokes. We will drill some of these when we finally get back to training.

19.01.2022 Important update- I have recently spoken with the Contract Manager at Seymour College. Sadly it is her belief that the Victorian Education Department will not allow any non-essential people access to the school facilities before the new year. This measure not only restricts the use of the halls but also the undercover basketball courts which I had hoped to utilise to keep us out of the weather. On the topic of weather- Due to the unpredictable weather we have had recently I a...m currently looking for something undercover to shield you all from the rain or extended sun exposure. I thank you all for your ongoing patience. As soon as we have some sort of suitable venue I will give an update.
19.01.2022 Hokama Sensei demonstrates some interesting Seiunchin bunkai.
17.01.2022 The purpose of this drill is hidden! Just like many things in our forms. As Soke says look for what you cannot see.
14.01.2022 At 10pm last night Soke Bob accepted his 10th degree promotion. At 80 years of age and after 55years of training The Chief has reached the pinnacle of any marti...al art. This however is not the end but simply a new beginning. The Chief never accepts a rank as a way to rest but as an opportunity to explore further. He is a pioneer of the martial arts and can easily be put up as one of it not THE most influential person on the Australasian Martial Arts scene. BJMA has been at the forefront of most improvements in the martial arts in our area of the world. These improvements have also spread across the globe and our Protector crosses pop up in some of the most far reaching places. Our lives have forever been changed because The Chief led the way challenging preconceived ideals, extended the limitations of others and penetrated all areas of our lives spreading love and safety for our community. He has never accepted mediocrity of himself and always leads from the front. His visions are often misunderstood until many years later as the world catches up and what he was saying is then accepted as the norm. This is why he is an exceptional human who has forever changed the world for the better. Our lives are judged by the impact we have had on others, legacy is a word thrown around but here is a living example of what that word looks like in real life and as The Chief would say you ain’t seen nothing yet. 10th degree is not the end but the beginning of a journey we cannot yet understand but I know that in 10 years time many people will consider what The Chief does next as the new norm. Hurrah, Hurrah, Hurrah Congratulations and Thank You for your love and friendship. Hanshi Brad See more
14.01.2022 Hi All. I am sure that by now most of you are aware of the positive COVID results in Seymour. Please be sure to take care of both your physical and mental health during this stressful time. Reach out and ring some of our other students if you have their numbers. You will be surprised by how much a simple phone call can brighten someones day when they are feeling overwhelmed.... As always I am here to talk whenever you need me. Take care of yourselves, and each other.
13.01.2022 Notice to all - I have just received an update from Seymour College. Current Department of Education guidlines stipulate that no non-essential person is allowed access to school property for the rest of this term. The contract manager has asked that on contact her upon the commencement of the next school term - being July 11. We are hopeful that circumstances will have eased by then.... Whilst we can't get together I would encourage you all to keep up your training. Even 15 minutes a day is better than nothing. Stay well. I will keep you all updated as things change.

06.01.2022 I have received several phone calls over the last few weeks from people concerned as to the future of the dojos. I would like to take this time to let everyone know - WE WILL BE BACK! I love what I do, and I am thankful everyday for the unique opportunity that I have to play a small part in your martial arts journeys. Both dojos, Seymour and Puckapunyal will most definitely return post COVID.... As always thank you all for your continued patience. I can't wait until we are all able to train again.

05.01.2022 Please be on the lookout for this boat and trailer - Registration VG845Q. There has been a break in at the Oak St storage facility. My boat along with everything else in my shed have been stolen. 3 units were raided at the same time. Given the volume of what was taken someone must know something. They have taken military and Customs awards that have no monetary value. They even stole things from when my children were little.... Any information please give me a call.
04.01.2022 Kyoshi Matt Ball is sharing some great tutorial clips for people to work on during lockdown.

01.01.2022 Hi all, Training to recommence on Monday 18 Jan 2021. Training shall be held on Monday and Wednesday. Bow in will be 6:15pm sharp. We only have one hour of floor time at this venue. We need to make every minute count.... Please arrive at least 20 minutes early so that we can get through the sign in and temperature checks as quickly as possible. Students are advised to attend in their training attire. This will negate the need for change rooms. Bring a personal drink bottle as there will not be access to communal bubble taps etc other than for the purpose of refilling the aforementioned drink bottle. Upon arrival please maintain the relevant social distancing. ABOVE ALL ELSE IF YOU ARE EVEN SLIGHTLY UNWELL DO NOT ATTEND THE VENUE. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. More updates shall be forthcoming over the next few days.
