24.01.2022 The design phase is where we begin to construct and test the story we’re trying to tell. Grounded in a deep understanding of the problem space, we’ll explore the project from different angles and perspectives. We won’t be satisfied until we’ve created a truly powerful, meaningful set of designs.
15.01.2022 Curious about the inspiration and process behind our latest light installation, Fall? We did a behind the scenes interview with Vivid Sydney that is up on their site now! https://www.vividsydney.com//behind-the-scenes-fall-tells-
12.01.2022 Twinkling LEDs set against an immersive geodesic dome - does it get any better?! This mesmerising set up is from ‘Take Me There’, an activation we created for the vivo Lab concept store. It helped us create an ever-changing canvas of light for audiences to explore.
11.01.2022 We’re proud to announce a brand new light installation debuting at Vivid Sydney later this year! 'Fall' is a sensory experience encouraging a greater awareness of our relationship with water. As if from a leaking tap, drips of light form and fall, splashing to the ground in a mesmerising, tactile experience. We can’t wait to share this work - and the process that brought it to life - in the coming months!... For more on the project, head on over to: http://bit.ly/intro-vivid-fall
11.01.2022 There’s a magical moment at the beginning of every interactive experience when a visitor realises it's responding directly to them. It's a moment that elicits joy and curiosity that opens a whole new world of possibilities. Behind that moment is a lot of hard work to make sure the experience actually does recognise and respond to visitors. Including testing like this to see how far we could push tech like the Microsoft Azure Kinect to track visitors in real time for our touch wall project with Gensler.
08.01.2022 A little video for your Friday afternoon - our interactive touch wall with the Art Gallery of New South Wales. In the three months that this piece was live, one of the conductive ink touch points was triggered every 11 seconds. That’s over 362,000 individual interactions bringing the secret world of supernatural yokai to life through technology. 06.01.2022 Beyond the Stars is getting ready to go to even more countries across the Pacific Islands - this time in French as well as English! The updated version of our education program won’t just be available in multiple languages, it’ll also feature updates to the story and game to cover topics like climate change and caring for the environment as well as nutrition. Be sure to stay tuned, and check out this link for more information on the program: https://www.s1t2.com.au//expe/introducing-beyond-the-stars
06.01.2022 What if virtual and mixed reality could play a role in how we treat mental health? This was the idea behind Edge of the Present, our virtual reality collaboration with artist Alex Davies that we debuted this time last year. The experience tied audiences’ real world interaction to changes in the virtual world, exploring the potential for immersive tech to support positive image generation and future thinking - proven tools in mental health management.
03.01.2022 The best stories are those we craft - and experience - together. That’s why Discovery is a key part of our process. It gives us the chance to immerse ourselves in the world of a project, and to work collaboratively with our clients and audiences to begin designing a solution. This snap captures an early brainstorming session for a soon-to-be-revealed project with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. Stay tuned to see where the process led us!
03.01.2022 The Baller Banquet isn’t just about eating - it’s about making food fun. We captured that vibe with an art direction we call bling bling realism - loosely inspired by the Snoop TVC. Bringing joy and excitement to the Menulog experience, we landed on a mix of photographic scenes and exaggerated illustrations to portray a dream world where everything is awesome. Add in web animations using Lottie and you’ve got a style real enough to be relatable, but ridiculous enough to inspire your inner baller.
02.01.2022 Thinking back to our last Vivid Sydney sculpture, Revive the Reef. A stunning interactive sculpture designed to shine a light on climate change. As visitors worked together to spin the coral, over 30,000 LEDs would transform the artwork into a vibrant display of light and sound. Proof that even small actions can make a big difference.
