Swimming Lessons are on Summer Break from 21 December 2020 to Sunday 10 January 2021. Lessons will commence Monday 11 January 2021.... The Creche will be closed from Friday 18 December 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021. Exercise Physiology will be closed from Thursday 24 December 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021. 23.01.2022 As per the South Australian State Governments announcement, from midnight Wednesday 18 November, the Centre will be CLOSED for 6 days or until further advised. All services and programs will be suspended such as: Lap & Rehabilitation swimming Gym and Strength & Conditioning Studio All group fitness classes... Swimming Lessons Exercise Physiology & Strength for Life Marion Sports Physio Marion Swimming Club High Performance Squads Aqua Sensory Play All memberships, including Gym & Swim and Swimming Lessons, remain on suspension during the closure with no direct debit payments taken out of your account. And, all casual service visits paid for in advance will be honoured upon reopening (including Lap Swimming, Personal Training, Aqua Sensory Play and Leisure Swimming). We know this is disappointing, but the government is making decisions with the best interests of our community in mind, and we must all work together to reduce the spread of COVID-19. 22.01.2022 As you may have heard, the South Australia State Government has directed all Gyms and Recreation Centres to close as of midnight Monday 16 November 2020. A recent State Government Direction has however made lap swimming and rehabilitation swimming available. From Wednesday 18 November 2020, Lap Swimming in the deep or shallow pools and Rehabilitation Swimming in the shallow pool will be available to all members, casual visitors and Multi-Visit Pass Holders. Online pre-booking...s remain essential for Lap Swimming and Rehabilitation Swimming. Members please note that although all memberships are on automatic suspension, you are still able to lap swim at no charge. Simply select the member option within the online booking tool to book your lap swim. All existing Lap Swimming and Rehabilitation Swimming bookings will remain as scheduled from Wednesday 18 November 2020. Bookings may be rescheduled via the manage booking tool contained in your booking confirmation email. Lap Swimming and Rehabilitation swimming bookings paid for in advance for Tuesday 17 November will be honoured. We will be in contact for these booking to be rescheduled. 14.01.2022 Good afternoon, We eagerly await the Emergency Direction that will be delivered at some stage today. We know SAPOL, SA Health and all the SA Government teams are working hard to deliver a COVID safe and secure Centre. Whilst we wait for the new Emergency Direction, we also are awaiting the new COVID-19 Safety or Management plan. This will contain the SA Government unique SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre QR code. This will override all other contact tracing items. So, this is wha...t we know now. The Centre QR Code will be placed at each entrance as soon as they are available Each patron will need to download the mySA Gov app which will contain the QR Code Scanner (https://my.sa.gov.au/) Scanning via the QR code is mandatory If you do not have a phone, manual contact tracing is mandatory When we have the Emergency Directions, we will make the call on Swimming Lessons and Aqua classes (some may begin tomorrow, and some may begin on Wednesday). Stand by for more information as it becomes available. We also await the Emergency Direction on Recreation/Leisure Play swimming, Community sport and squad swimming. Thank you for your understanding. As it has been since March 23, we aim to reopen the SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre safely, securely and with community safety in mind.

14.01.2022 We have an invitation from our Group Fitness Team Leader Melissa for a 6-day challenge for you to try at home! Are you up for the challenge? "Hi all, I've decided to put together a 6-day challenge, and any of you want to join, you can! Day 1 - 100 sumo squats, plus 1 min sumo squat pulse at the end... Day 2 - 200 burpees, any style Day 3 - 300 tricep push-ups, the ones I showed you the other day with one leg raised and your noise touches mat each time. 150 each leg Day 4 - 400 leg drops, single or double. Making sure you use correct posture as I've shown you. And you are supporting your lower back! Day 5 - 500 jumping jacks and seal jacks, 250 of each Day 6 - 600 jab cross with a shuffle Note you can do it over the entire day, so can break it down over 4-6 sessions in the day. Please go at your own pace, don’t overdo it. Anyone up for the challenge? Might be fun!"

12.01.2022 Following Premier Stephen Marshall’s announcement today, The SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, operated by the YMCA, will review all information as it becomes available. Please standby for more information regarding the reopening of the Centre. We understand the new Emergency Services Directive (Directive 13) is to be published at 12am Saturday. This will provide guidance for our operations to possibly open on Sunday. As you can appreciate, we were all preparing for a six-day lock down. It is great that we have all played our part in only making it three. We are working hard to prepare our staff and the Centre. We aim to do this as quick as possible and have the Centre back up and operating. Please stand by. Your safety has been, and always will be, our top priority.

09.01.2022 We have studied the latest SAPOL-SA Health Emergency Management Public Activities No-12 COVID-19 Direction 2020. The Direction allows us to resume Lap Swimming, Group Fitness (no Aqua Classes), Gym workouts, Exercise Physiology and Café service. Note we have employed some of the safest methods of operations including online bookings, scanning of membership cards at entry, contact tracing, Covid-19 Marshals, hand sanitisers, safety screens, masks and extra cleaning. We will co...ntinue these in line with the new Direction. Our sole aim has only ever been and will continue to be to keep all South Australian’s using and working at SAALC. Please note rules are bound to change, and we will work hard to adapt as they do. Starting this Sunday, Lap and Rehabilitation swimming, Gym workouts and Group Fitness Classes (excluding Aqua) will resume.
