25.01.2022 When you love what you do - I get to empower people and make the world a better place, one punch at a time. I get to make people fitter, stronger, healthier. But, most importantly, I get to connect and befriend amazing people with a similar mindset - people who constantly look forward to what's next!... Come train with me at @xfightingkravmaga
25.01.2022 And how do you spend your lunch breaks at work? Reposted from @xfightingkravmaga - You're walking to your car, and someone jumps at you armed with a baseball bat... Maybe you're alone, maybe you're with a loved one and the kids - what do you do? Krav Maga specialises in dealing with armed attackers - simple, effective, aggressive - join us and learn how to deal with the worst that life can throw at you, while discovering the best you can be!
25.01.2022 When they randomly ask you to do a Yoga Flow but you haven’t done yoga in a while I blame @inspire.play (happy birthday ang! )
23.01.2022 I love teaching hand grabs in self defence. Not because they're necessarily a common attack, or because they pose a serious threat by themselves. I love teaching hand grabs because they have a lot of lessons regarding behaviour in physical conflict, about the space of techniques and reason behind using them, about the timeline of attacks and about the different options different people can and should employ to deal with violence of any kind. For example, when I teach the unle...ashed workshop - our women's self defence - I will always touch on the subject of hand grabs: but, unlike many self defence providers I see, our focus is not on the technique itself but the lessons, implications and social and internal tools it provides us with us. We're running a small private Unleashed this Sunday evening, and we decided to open it up for public because we have 5 spaces left, and we think it's imperative women participate in self defence training - shoot me a DM if you live around Sydney and want to join us!
23.01.2022 Some of my favourite time is getting to train with this boss! Warrior mindset, always pushes forward, trains at home regularly, not afraid to get hurt and doesn't make a fuss if he does (and if you think getting punched by someone 3 times your size with bare knuckles doesn't hurt, even when hit gently, you're mistaken) - and, most importantly, he does all that while staying a gent. Consistently, kids and teens that train martial arts regularly not only face less violence, bu...t are less violent themselves. So are adults. Everyone has a lot to learn from this champ!

22.01.2022 This is how we do the #bottlecapchallenge in Krav Maga - Simple, Effective... No Bullshit
21.01.2022 I think the heavy bag is one of the best tools in developing fighting skills: conditioning, fitness, power, speed, timing, angles, footwork, balance, range, technique... They can all be drastically improve just by working correctly on the heavy bag! Even if you're not after fighting skills, heavy bag work can really push your fitness and conditioning forward! Do you hit the heavy bag regularly? What's your favourite routine on the bag?
20.01.2022 Thanks @gnc_australia for the gift Just started another 48hr fast with @arkyology - so I’ll have to wait a few days before I can try them... on nom nom #gnc #protein #andotherstuff
19.01.2022 Happy Independence Day to Israel! Happy Yom Haatzmaut!
19.01.2022 Friends should support you, and bring you up - if you’re constantly worried what your friends might think of you, then it’s either one of two: either they’re not really your friends, or you have a lot of work to do around your confidence and self worth. Still, if your friends constantly make you feel bad, or judge you (constructive criticism isn’t judgment), or stand in your way - time to cut that attachment off. @rubasaurusrex... @mickcondon @xfightingkravmaga #friends #isnt #a #great #tv #series

18.01.2022 Why is it so fun getting punched in the face?!

17.01.2022 Such a privilege, having a gym in the bustling Bondi Junction centre - gives me all the opportunity to feed my inner exhibitionist
16.01.2022 Things will always pop up. Things will always get in your way. There will always be an excuse not to do what you need, or want. So what? Just jump in head first and smash it as hard as you can! And if that doesn't work, punching things can really put things in perspective!... Photo by @herpoeticlife #keep #on #pushing #and #punching
15.01.2022 So much fun empowering women to kick ass and unleash some havoc over this Sunday! Posted @withrepost @xfightingkravmaga UNLEASHED: WOMENS SELF DEFENCE WORKSHOP Swipe right to see more! @ X Fighting
15.01.2022 @xfightingkravmaga Is pad-work even really pad-work if the holder doesnt smack you around a bit?
14.01.2022 Don't you love a good morning session? Especially on Saturday, kick starting the weekend with a bang!
13.01.2022 If you think dealing with an armed attacker is "simple"... If you think there's a magical technique that will save you... If you don't train intensly... If you don't train with intent... If you don't deal with complex scenarios... If you never saw a real weapon, yet confident you can handle it... Boy, do I have news for you! Confidence in full contact them sports is a must - confidence in self defence training is dangerous. If you're wondering whether the person you're traini...ng with is the real deal, or looking for advice on who to train with on your area, shoot me a DM!
13.01.2022 If you don't punch things on a regular basis, and you're doing any form of "self defence", I hate to break it to you, but you're not training in self defence, you're doing martial art dancing
13.01.2022 Popped over to @yeshivah.college to teach the young Jewish boys, girls and Mesivta teens some Krav Maga - we learned how to use our awareness and voice, some basic Krav Maga combinations and applications and a bit of the meaning of Krav Maga and what self defence really is about... Lots of fun!
12.01.2022 Teaching isn't just about transferring knowledge. It's definitely not about showcasing your skills. Teaching is about inspiring people to take action and deepen their knowledge over a subject or a field. Teaching Krav Maga is complicated, because our goal is to actually inspire people to tap into something they've been conditioned to avoid their whole lives - violence and aggression. And through it, we teach people how to conquer violence, aggression and themselves, and final...ly be able to stand up. I see a lot of martial artists trying to boast how tough they are - for me that's usually a red flag, showing lack of confidence in their abilities, lack of confidence in who they are, and lack of confidence in their ability to share knowledge and skills with others - in the end, they miss the point of martial arts, miss the point of self defence and miss the point of teaching. The whole "Send me to the wolves and I'll come back leading them?"... How about we ask why they keep sending you to the wolves?
11.01.2022 The classic "static front choke release" in Krav Maga. I often have students come and tell me they tried this on their spouse/partner/colleague and "it didn't work" - my first question is always "did you knee them in the groin?"... Obviously, the answer is always no. Remember, there's no magical techniques that solve problems - efficient and vicious striking to critical areas is key to everything and anything that is Krav Maga and self defence!... And thanks to @baraksolomon91 for helping me with this shoot in Israel!
11.01.2022 Ive been to Krav Maga gyms all around the world, and although I am biased I definitely think we have the coolest looking #kravmaga gym out there! Not to mention the awesome team and amazing people training with us, that make this gym truly the best! Rumour has it well all be punching each other in it very soon
11.01.2022 New haircut! Thanks Joe (Just 4 Man Bondi Junction)! Also, finished an awesome morning workout: 10 min skipping 5 sets of wide full range pull ups... 5 sets of full range external rotation full range dips 10 min heavy bag boxing work And now, do some work, then yoga, then ramen then @apexboxing_
10.01.2022 Playing around on the heavy bag after a great Muay Thai class in @8limbsbondi A long time ago, when I started doing martial arts and Krav Maga, I discovered a "hack" that really helped me get that edge in training: when your coach tells you to do 10 push-ups, I do 11. When they say do 50 kicks, I do 60. When the class or lesson ends, I do another round on the bag or another set of conditioning. I tell that to my students, especially the younger ones: if I ask for 10, and you ...do 9 that's your problem... You're just keeping yourself behind everyone else... When I ask for 10 and you do 11, that's the real "cheat" because you're building yourself a long term advantage... So, always do more! #edge
09.01.2022 Last day before Christmas! See you all back in training at the new year @xfightingkravmaga @rubasaurusrex @sethsaunders @carlaheik @bentodes_ @nechamakinstlinger @max_the_kiwi @indisgram @arkyology @photographybykatsunojiri @2d.active @ruthiesitver
08.01.2022 Punching is one of the most valuable tools for self defence - being able to recognise them when they're thrown at you, and being able to execute them when you need. Eye jabs, bites, spitting, targeting the groin, slapping, etc - they're all amazing tools, and should be in your arsenal, but never at the cost of learning how to punch properly. #striking
08.01.2022 Great #Unleashed workshop this Sunday! Over 30 women of the Eastern Suburbs community came in, kicked ass, had fun and left stronger than ever! One of our missions is to create a community of people who stand up for each other, protect others, and create a safer environment for everyone - workshops like these do exactly that, one person at a time. If you want to attend one of our women's self defence workshops, know someone who might want to, or want to get involved - please shoot me a DM!
08.01.2022 Timing > Speedo
07.01.2022 One of my students and good friend asked me to demonstrate what I mean by being "loose" while working on the heavy bag. The heavy bag is a tool, and as such it has many uses: You can use it to condition, to build power, to work on technicality, range, speed, timing and much much more!... This time, I was looking to teach him how to use the bag to help you "relax" and be "loose" while working and training - this gives you ability to train for much longer, to remain calmer while fighting, to strike faster and deliver more damage (think of your punches being like a whip, when your muscles are free off tension) and build an ambivalent mindset to fighting. It's also super fun. I wasn't planning on hitting a heavy bag that day, but I always love punching things so why not! Have you ever had a trainer spend a whole hour just trying to get you to relax? Not all training is about intensity - especially not when we deal with fighting skills.
05.01.2022 Fasting gainzzzz (or, losses, depends how you measure things, I guess) Last week - 72hr fast, and this week 48hr fast... does this mean I have to do a 24hr fast next week? Yes, it does. #water #only #fasting
04.01.2022 #throwbackthursday to the Krav Maga instructors course in Bahad 8 - the IDF's combat and fitness army base. In this picture you can see me in one of the summarising drills, a CQB drill that involved using your rifle as a hand to hand weapon, moving to using Krav Maga when the rifle is out of bullets and/or in close proximity and lastly shooting drills under stress and fatigue. Talk about fun!... Although I mostly teach civilians these days, I really feel the lessons, experience and knowledge of teaching I gained while serving as an officer in the IDF help me take my students where they should, self defence wise, much quicker: soldiers don't have much time, or much focus, and as such you have to find "shortcuts" to get them as skilled as possible in a very short time. With that, it pains me when I hear people that say that they teach "army Krav Maga" and all that bull - Krav Maga is Krav Maga, the main difference being the scenarios you train for, the tools you employ and the goal you want to reach. #army #days
04.01.2022 Jab cross slip cross hook slip hook cross weave cross hook weave hook cross Simple, fun, great - it's not a combination that you will use in a fight, but it's a combination that will ingrain in your system the skills required to win a fight... Action, reaction, instinctual, quick. Also, how fun is that! Love having a gym in the centre of Bondi Junction, that allows me to pop up and get some sun on while punching things!... Reposted from @xfightingkravmaga - DONT STOP Repeat, repeat, repeat until its second nature
03.01.2022 Our Weekly Krav Maga Live classes!
03.01.2022 Lots of fun running a Krav Maga workshop for @aujssydneyuni Every time I run such an online workshop, I keep getting surprised: first by how much fun it is both for me and for the attendees, but also by how much practical knowledge and skills you can teach through an online platform. You can really see how everyone is picking things up! I believe @xfightingkravmaga, whose role is to empower the community through Keav Maga and self defence, and @aujs_ whose role is to empower ...the Jewish community through social bonds have a lot in common, and I enjoyed chatting and training with some members of that community. Still, cant wait for #xfighting to open already! #kravmaga is done best face to face
02.01.2022 Starting a week of live classes! we'll focus on basic striking and krav techniques!
01.01.2022 What an amazing instructors course we had! A long, hard week of training, teaching, learning, punching being punched, perfecting skills and growing in the world of Krav Maga! #kravmaga #instructors #course #2018
01.01.2022 Long ago I've learned that the best fighters, or the most professional people in their field, aren't necessarily the best teacher. Teaching is an art and a skill, and should be learnt and trained if you want to get better at it. Apart from constantly working on my Krav Maga and related fighting abilities, I spend a lot of time trying to refine my teaching method.... How do you pick a good teacher for your desired skill? Do you go by skill level? Word of mouth? Intuition? Personal connection? #kravmaga #teacher #instructor #coach
01.01.2022 Having fun with Narong at @8limbs - top notch Muay Thai instructor, and a great overall guy! Also, it's the 3rd round, and I'm old, tired and out of shape, the floor is crooked, the fans are off and the moon isn't in my alignment - so I better not hear anything about not putting enough hip behind those kicks! #muaythai
