20.01.2022 For Immediate Release: Saber Astronautics is pleased announce a new open-source software initiative to connect satellites to mission control centres. Called the Open Source Space Operations project, or OSSO, the aim is to make it easier for new space companies to rapidly deploy their missions. This project received grant funding from the Australian Governments International Space Investment: Expand Capability grant opportunity to the value of $788,792.... OSSOs objective is to solve the bespoke nature of infrastructure needed to operate a space mission. The open sourcing of Sabers operational infrastructure and making components available for free via the OSSO platform will allow any new space team to collaborate in a way which avoids competitive angst, builds on lessons learned, and allows for iterative improvement. Saber Astronautics will develop OSSO in tandem with other projects and initiatives, as well as supporting the Breakthrough Initiatives TOLIMAN Spacecraft, a 10cm-class space telescope to prospect for Earth-like planets around Alpha Centauri. Please stay up to date via our website https://saberastro.com, or follow us on Social Media - Twitter (@SaberAstro), Facebook (@SaberAstronautics). We are grateful for all of the support and excellent partners we have on-board for this project (Australian Space Agency, et al). #space #opensource #satellite For our full press release, please visit: https://www.saberastro.com//2020-06-open-source-space-oper
