02.01.2022 #repost @missanonyms Today I chopped my hair I chopped my hair because I’m always asking so much of others - to spread awareness, to keep conversations going and to help raise money for MS services and research. I wanted to give back to something. I wanted to help the way others help me. Those that know me well especially my hairdresser @nadie.t.xx who’s been doing my hair since I was 17 knows how important my hair has been to me through all my treatments. Especia...lly when I was on Gilenya - it started falling out and became incredibly thin. I’ve worked hard to grow it and make it healthy since stopping Gilenya and it took up a lot of time and space in my mind. But today I can say I’ve healed from the scars Gilenya left me with. It gave me the understanding of what someone with cancer goes through not only managing a horrific disease but all the changes it makes to ones appearance. Everyone usually says don’t worry about your hair as long as the treatment is helping but when you’re the one losing control of your health and your body it’s so much harder to conceptualise.
