24.01.2022 Happy new year to all members! Although we are supposed to be back this weekend it looks like all play will be cancelled. For those of you who are not aware of our heat policy....... If the forecast for saturday is 40 or above in Adelaide, on the 6pm news on friday night, all play is cancelled.

21.01.2022 Welcome to season 2017/18! Footy season is almost over and before you know it we'll be chasing leather again in the summer heat. This season we have 2 divisions of 6 teams going around. After losing Fitzroy, Rose Park and North Eastern Knights to other competitions, as well as Seaton who have folded, we have managed to secure 2 new clubs. Pashton CC and VHP CC. While losing clubs is never ideal, we understand their reasons and wish these clubs every success. This competiti...on is not dead or dying, but simply in a transition period and we are doing our best to move it in a positive direction. As I'm sure you are aware this season we have gone to a full one day comp. with a club based T20 comp. either side of Christmas. We are also currently looking for expressions of interest for a Sunday one day competition. We are looking at starting this around the middle of November, to allow us time to get things organised. 18.01.2022 C&CCA AGM set for 13th August from 730 @ Grand North. From the last meeting on tuesday night it was conceeded that a motion will be passed to suspend competition indefinitely. I urge all clubs to be represented.

17.01.2022 SACCCA FUTURE MEETING When: Tuesday 19th June from 7:30pm. Where: The Greenacres Bar @ Grand North . ( Para Vista Home Ground ) ALL clubs are expected to send atleast 1 delagate, but 2 would be preffered. I am calling this meeting now to give clubs as much time as possible to find new associations, as I expect the outcome will be that we vote to suspend competition from season 2018/19.

16.01.2022 It is with great sadness to inform you that a long serving association and exec member passed away last night. Glenys Phillips, who served as an exec member for as long as I remember, and also served Central Mission CC as a major supporter and scorer. She was such a lovely natured person, who gave our association so much of her time. She was always very vocal within our meetings, and 9 times out of 10 she was correct. It has probably been 5 or 6 years since she hasnt been on the exec. and her presence has been missed. On behalf of the association i would like to convey my sincerest condolences to her family. On saturday I ask that we all wear black armbands in respect for Glenys. It is the least we can do for someone who gave our association so much. RIP Glenys, you will not be forgotten.

They have been busy in negotiations with clubs that are willing to enter sides into our competition. Please read the entire post before making judgements. Remain open minded..... VHP Adelaide Uni Div. 2 Para Vista B Adelaide Lutheran B Pashtun B Adelaide Zalmi * Potential second team from Afghan CC * an invitation has been sent to Penisular Pirates * Both Afghan CC and Adelaide Zalmi are incorporated clubs with club structure. Afghan also run entry level cricket for their own juniors. ( milo In2C ) * Potential for further VHP teams * Proposed format is 5 two dayers, 5 one dayers with a T20 comp. either side of christmas. * The SACA has offered support for clubs with club compliance, procedural support, Mycricket support, training of umpires. * Umpires will be paid more this season, to encourage more to participate. President Peter Taylor will make contact with clubs in the coming weeks to arrange for distribution of player awards at club functions if possible. 06.01.2022 Match rule 6.4 (c). Where a one day match is interrupted by weather or unforseen circumstances, the match will be reduced by one over for every 4 minutes of time lost. If the interruption occurs during the first innings of the team batting first, the number of overs available to play during the day is devided equally between the two teams. If, as a result of an interruption for unforseen circumstances, the number of overs to which the team batting first is entitled is reduced below 24, the match must be abandoned.

04.01.2022 After a long time of negativity, I had a productive discussion with Luke from the SACA today. There's a new directive from Cricket Australia aimed at community cricket and with it some decent funding....Luke will be at our meeting on Tuesday and will talk about what the SACA can do to help us move forward. Please make sure you have your club represented at this important meeting.

Captains are reminded that it is your responsibility to keep track of your over rates and making sure the team is bowling about 15 overs per hour. 01.01.2022 We're not done yet! That was the overwhelming response from delagates at last nights meeting. Not all clubs were represented so over the next week I will be in touch with them to find out their intentions. Luke from the SACA informed us that they were prepared to do whatever they can to help us move forward. The SACA have new funding from CA specially designed to help Community Cricket and it has opened up some opportunities for us. The meeting was adjuorned and we will meet again on July 10.
