22.01.2022 The Yumali fire has been declared as 'contained' however lots of crews will be on the fireground for sometime (at least a week!) continuing to mop up hot spots, and strengthen containment lines. Mop up was being done yesterday, once the fire had been brought under control. Crews from the Para Group were one of many crews working there yesterday.... Thanks Alex Thomson for the photo

21.01.2022 Narrung took delivery of a refurbished 34 today. The new Narrung 34 is based on a 2008 Isuzu FTS800 Crew chassis, is 4 x 4 and carries around 3000 litres of water. Built by Moore Engineering, it has a Deutz BF4L2011 motor / Daley HE500 pump.... It was previously based at Springton It replaces the existing 26 year old Hino based Narrung 24, which will be assessed for ongoing operational use. Thanks Andrew Hogg for the photo

18.01.2022 Mopping up and securing the edges of the Yumali fire.......lots of work to do. Crews from the East Torrens strike team working on Goodall Rd, early this morning

18.01.2022 Coomandook Area School let us know about this video - thanks to the staff & students. (And thanks for the use of your facilities during the Yumali fire, which was used as a staging area for CFS crews!)

17.01.2022 Do you know a 14-18 year old around the Munno Para area and surrounds, who might be interested in joining the CFS as a cadet? Dalkeith CFS are seeking expressions of interest.

15.01.2022 CFS Crews across the South East, Mallee, Adelaide Hills, and up to the Mid North & beyond responded yesterday to two fires in the South East - one at Deepwater, the other at Yumali. With tight covid restrictions in place yesterday, crews added an extra layer of protection to their PPE, by wearing surgical masks. Even our 'trauma teddies' were setting the right example!

15.01.2022 Crews from the Region 4 Strike team continued mopping up activities at the Yumali fire today. Thanks Alexander Giles for the photo

10.01.2022 Crews at the Netherton Fire station - which has been kept very busy at the Yumali fire, came back to their station, to find this sign stuck to it. Thanks Doug Spry for the photo

08.01.2022 CFS crews across various parts of the state have been busy chasing fires today - many the result of lightning strikes. One of those was at McLaren Vale, with several crews responded to a fire within a vineyard. The fire was quickly extinguished.... Thanks McLaren Flat for the photo.

06.01.2022 Crews from the Lacepede Group, including Taratap, Kingston and Tilley Swamp responded to the Deepwater Fire, yesterday. While the terrain doesn't look too bad, it was sandy, soft and swampy in some places, making getting around in an 11 tonne fire appliance, rather interesting at times!! The upside of responding to these sorts of incidents, is sometimes, you get the opportunity to pause, and enjoy a sunset!... Thanks Meagan Robinson for the photo

04.01.2022 The Yumali fire had a mix of fuels for crews to deal with - patches of scrub, grazed paddocks, paddocks of stubble, and paddocks of standing grain crops. Several crews worked on extinguishing 'running grass fires' through paddocks - this one being chased by appliances & crews from the Swanport Group. Thanks Jiron Blacket for the photo.

03.01.2022 CFS crews, Farm Fire Units and MFS crews all responded yesterday to a large grass fire at Templers. We haven't received too many photos as yet from that fire - which is usually an indicator to us that crews were too busy fighting the fire, to take many photos. However, Roseworthy CFS were able to take a few as they headed to the fire.... Thanks Roseworthy CFS Brigade for the photo

03.01.2022 CFS crews across the state have been chasing fires and smoke sightings, the result of lightning strikes. CFS crews and farm fire units (FFU) have been working together to quickly extinguish these fires, before they get going. Farm Fire Units at Booleroo Centre were able to get on top of one such fire, before CFS crews arrived.... Thanks Brooke Orrock for the photo
