21.01.2022 Important News - COVID 19 There has been a new outbreak of COVID-19 in Adelaide. Most people who have it are in the northern suburbs but everyone must be careful. Everyone must keep up good hygiene.... If you know of or are a person with intellectual disability who catches public transport or lives in the north please support them to look at the contact tracing list below to see what buses and places have been impacted. If you feel unwell you must get tested . If you want information or need to talk to someone about COVID you can call the Disability Information Helpline on 1800 643 787 SACID will keep you updated with new information.

17.01.2022 We encourage you to read the open letter from VALID CEO Kevin Stone in regard to NDIS Independent Assessments. These words resonate strongly with the views of so many people we have spoken to in SA and we applaud the strong stance and advocacy of VALID in this space. In short - we are not against Independent Assessments BUT we need to see more research and evidence of how it will work for people with intellectual disability, multiple or complex disability... we want appropriate evidence-based tools being used there needs to be a level of choice and flexibility in the process See more

You can download it for free on our website. It is vital that all South Australians know the new rules. 16.01.2022 This week is NAIDOC Week - a celebration of 65,000 plus years of rich cultural history and connection to country of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. We acknowledge and are grateful for all that the beautiful Kaurna country provides us in order to engage in SACID activities on this land. May we continue to listen and learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and work towards justice, equality, freedom and human rights.

04.01.2022 Shout out and big thank you to Enabling Country Communities for giving us 2 tickets in corporate seating to give away for the SANFL Grand Final . Sarah who attended said "It was a great thing to be able to go to the SANFL Grand Final! I had on my supporter gear and cheered loudly, shame about the results!! But I know next year they will come good again. Thanks Enabling Country Communities for the tickets, I had a great experience!"
