10.01.2022 A message from SA Country Basketball EO, Julie Anderson Hi all, Some personal news - the 5th November will be my last day with SA Country Basketball.... I would like to thank SA Country for the opportunity to lead the organisation for last three years. I credit our many achievements to our quality team (Tanya, Andrew, Nicole, Patrick and Jamie) and the support from Mal Thomson during my tenure. Together we have adopted a professional approach to our operation; revised and developed the player and coach pathway; began the work to improve the local training environment; reintroduced the annual USA Tour; diversified our revenue with new commercial partners; successfully secured grants to subsidise our players fees for development camps, to provide bullying and violence prevention workshops and to provide a Women in Basketball Program that will enhance development opportunities for women and girls in our great game. The last year has been challenging for everyone with the drought, bushfires and pandemic and it has made our achievements even more remarkable. I acknowledge our current Chair Nathan and all of the volunteers and staff from the Associations for their invaluable work towards operating their organisations and providing Basketball opportunities for our Country players, coaches, referees and administrators. I leave the organisation in a good position and wish SA Country Basketball the very best for the future. Julie out. On behalf of all SA Country members I would like to take this opportunity to thank Julie for her 3 years of service as Executive Officer. Julie has played a significant role in the development, growth and success of the organisation. Under Julie’s leadership, SA Country has been able to source lucrative commercial sponsorship deals, reviewed and implemented numerous policies and procedures and she was the driving force of The Women in Basketball program. Our membership base has increased during her time and Julie has helped our staff lead online coaching initiatives which have been very important for all our players and coaches during Covid-19. I am sure you will join me in wishing Julie all the best for the future . Nathan Grosser SA Country President
