10.05.2022 Welcome Anton! This week we welcome Anton to our Sacred Heart community as our new Library Educator. It has been wonderful to see the excitement and joy on the faces of the students during their Library lessons this week as they have explored the new spaces Anton has established.... Anton’s passion for books and digital technologies is evident from the moment you start speaking to him. So make sure you say ‘Hi’ if you see him around Sacred Heart!

26.04.2022 At Sacred Heart we are inspired by the works of Loris Malaguzzi who believed that the third teacher is the environment. A setting designed to be not only functional but also beautiful and reflective of the child’s learning. We believe that the child’s relationship with parents, educators and their environment ignites their learning. You will often catch our passionate leader Kaylene beautifying our school environment in all her finery to ensure that it is a pleasurable space for us all to learn in!

17.04.2022 Mother's Day Breakfast. We hope you can come and celebrate with us!

10.04.2022 Today, ANZAC Day 2022, provided an opportunity for our Sacred Heart School Captains and School Vice Captains to join the Newport RSL and local community to say thank you to the men and women who have given so much in times of conflict. The students each selected a local soldier to research and speak about to a large, assembled crowd. They each showed courage, confidence and pride in representing their school at such a significant event. Congratulations Zac, Olive, Emily & Dylan.

25.01.2022 We'd just like to say.......

23.01.2022 'Always Was, Always Will Be', the theme for NAIDOC Week 2020, recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. This week at SHPS, we learned more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, demonstrating respect and recognition of one of the world’s oldest continuous living cultures.

20.01.2022 Today's Year 6 Book Club with Lyndal involved a hot chocolate and the all time classic novel, "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett. What more could one ask for?

18.01.2022 Let's get together and support our local and school community businesses

16.01.2022 Yesterday our Year 6 students hosted their Market Stall Day! The students have been learning about business models, needs vs wants and the economy, through their Term 4 Inquiry unit. They planned, made, and sold a product or service. A lot of work went on behind the scenes in the lead up to the day. There was chocolate, lollies, treats, popcorn, ice cream, mini golf, targets, spin the wheel, games, pebble pals, stress balls and the very popular water bombs! What a successful day it was! The Year 6 students made a profit and some of the money will be going towards a charity of their choice and some well deserved fun activities for their upcoming Year 6 Graduation. Congratulations Year 6 students!

09.01.2022 Today is R U OK? Day which is our national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, Are you OK? and support those struggling with life’s ups and downs. This year’s message is ‘There’s more to say after R U OK?’ It has been great to see so many of our Sacred Heart students learning about and recognising this great initiative this week. Let’s continue to support each other and have these important conversations.

07.01.2022 At Sacred Heart, we believe that children are curious and active in their learning when given opportunities to ask questions, discover, investigate and reflect. Throughout Remote Learning, our students have been investigating through their personal Passion Projects - posing questions, researching, going deeper and sharing their learning with others. Ashley in Year 5 researched Hebrew, exploring the link to his father's heritage. We are proud of you too!

05.01.2022 That’s a wrap for our Year 6 Graduation Celebration! Today our Year 6 students enjoyed a graduation liturgy, speeches, awards, an amazing race competition, pizza, gelati, a photo booth and a disco! A huge thank you to Lauren, Leah & Christina for all of their support and contributions for the event, alongside the Year 6 teachers and other parent helpers. An extra special mention to Lauren for the amazing smash cakes each student received as a gift! Wow! How lucky. I think we’ll all sleep well tonight after such a wonderful day. Congratulations Year 6

05.01.2022 During Term 3 Remote Learning, the Prep students designed, created, evaluated and communicated design solutions to solve the problem of helping Rapunzel down from the tower. They shared their solutions online with thier peers. Eloise presented her solutions and was persistent and innovative, even under the most blustery conditions. We love your thinking, Eloise, and all of the Prep kids!

05.01.2022 What a special memory for our Year 6 students to cherish! The Year 6 teachers would like to thank the Year 6s for bringing such a positive attitude to Virtual Camp. We hope this video brings a smile to your faces and that you are singing the words to the song for the rest of the day. A camp experience never to be forgotten!

03.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We celebrated NAIDOC week a little bit earlier this year at Sacred Heart! This week we were led through activities planned by our Year 6 Indigenous Perspectives Leadership Group. Our students sung, created, danced, coloured, read, listened and drew throughout the week. We gained a deeper understanding, and respect for our First Peoples of this land.

02.01.2022 Wishing our amazing Year 4 students a fabulous time on your Virtual Camp! We can't wait to see your beautiful smiles!!

02.01.2022 On Remembrance Day, the children and staff of Sacred Heart School took some time out of our busy day to be still and acknowledge our history. We reflected on the significance of the Flanders poppy and listened to sounds of the Last Post. We give thanks to the men and women of this time who gave so much.
