23.01.2022 In Science Year 3 are learning to understand the impact of the sun and human interactions on the earth’s surface. This week we have focused on the impacts the sun on the earth’s surface by completing a picture sort and discussing why we have grouped certain images in the categories of impacting the Earth's surface and not impacting the earth’s surface.

20.01.2022 A reminder that COSHC Vacation Care still has places available.

20.01.2022 Year 5 are working on multimodal texts. We did this by creating a Yearbook just about our time in Year 5. On our individual Yearbook pages we have included anything of our choice that happened this year, such as Funny moments, memories, events and what we hope our future holds. We are now working with a partner to retell details of special events that have happened in 2020. It was a good experience and we have had fun reflecting over the year. We are now prepared for when we create a yearbook next year highlighting our whole time in Primary School.

13.01.2022 We have been working so hard to keep fit! We have been learning some great soccer skills such as passing and dribbling. We are also great at using our teamwork skills. We listen to each other and try our very best! At the end of each session we say, Good game. Take a look at some of our amazing photos!

08.01.2022 Look and See! Stage Three explored the Sacred Heart Primary School playground, far and wide, to test their orienteering skills this week! Their background knowledge of position, including compass bearings, really came in handy to solve a variety of clues which lead to 17 hidden treasures across the playground. Small groups followed a strict set of direction-based instructions that led them to reveal AR-Coded videos on the iPad’s they used, which they all found quite impressive. Students also earned points for sticking together as a team, along with managing their excitement with sensible sound!

07.01.2022 This week, Stage 1 was lucky enough to have Nathaniel Eckstrom, a children’s book illustrator come to visit to talk about his work. Nathaniel has illustrated (which means draw the pictures) numerous children’s books like Bird on a wire, The Hole Idea and Duck! He read his two stories The Hole Idea and Duck! to us. He showed us his early writing from when he was in Year 1 and what his illustrations used to look like. Nathaniel also explained to us his process of drawing and how authors give him the words and then he creates the images. Sometimes he works on different books at the same time. Nathaniel showed us how to draw Duck from the book Duck! and he also showed us how to draw Finnian from The Hole Idea. Check out some of the illustrations from Year 1 and Year 2.
