01.01.2022 COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS UPDATE as 1 JULY 2020 As advised in Ad Clerum (5/20) Catholics from the Diocese of Parramatta are from 20 March 2020 dispensed from their Sunday Mass obligation until further notice (Canon 1248 2 and Catechism 2181.) There is no change to this dispensation at this stage. On 30 June 2020, NSW Health issued a revised COVID-19 Safety Plan for places of worship that must be adhered to effective 1 July 2020.... Public Masses are permitted. Capacity of the Mass must not exceed one person per 4 square metre of space (excluding people assisting with the service). As such Luddenham Church can safely seat up to 90 worshippers. Warragamba Church can safely seat up to 30 worshippers. 1.5 metres physical distance should be kept between people in the Church. However, members of the same household may sit together. There should be no procession of gifts, no passing of hymn books or collection plates. The Sign of Peace should be omitted or given without any hand-to-hand contact. The Parish must record the contact details of people attending a religious service. If attending as a family group from the same household, one adult contact name and number or email is sufficient. These records must be kept for at least four weeks and produced on request to the Chief Health Officer. This applies to Masses, weddings, funerals, memorial services, rosary groups, and all other events held at the parish.
