The Sun will rise at its most north-easterly point and sets in its most north-westerly. It reaches its highest point in the sky, and is the longest day, before it slowly starts to reduce. This is the time of the peak power of light. The Goddess is now pregnant with the child conceived at Beltaine, and the Sun God is at the height of his virility. The Sun is at the height of its life giving power. The Earth is awash with fertility and fecundity. This is also a time of the Fae. The veil is still thin, and Midsummer's Eve is one of the three spirit nights in Celtic lore. The trooping Faeries, the Faerie Hunt (as distinct from the Wild Hunt), and Faeries are known to ride out across the land. Indeed, we all know Shakespeare's tale. This is a wonderful time to celebrate love - not just between partners, but fellow humans, animals and all living things.
