25.01.2022 What does self-care mean to you? For me it has been a bit of a buzz word. Self-care meant massages, taking a relaxing bath, having a facial, getting your hair d...one or going for a long mindful walk in nature. But recently i have really been thinking what does self-care actually mean? I have always associated it with all of the activities described above. Since having my son and returning to my day job however these activities have become a luxury. They require time, childcare and financial resources. Recently i have felt resentment building. I was always putting myself last. Trying to manage a job, family, a household. There was no time for self-care. The last week I have really been pondering the whole concept of self-care and i realised, to me, it basically means making a conscious choice everyday to actually give a shit about me. EVERYDAY! I am worth giving a shit about! I have began working on a self-care plan. A REALISTIC plan of how i can give a shit about me! At our upcoming circle we are going to do something a little different and delve deeper into the concept of self-care. As always the themes that are rising for me each month are the themes that i explore at our circle for the month. I find usually the women that attend that month are often experiencing the same challenges. So this month we are going to develop our own self-care plan and I will share step by step how you can tailor your plan to your current life situation AND feel empowered to put this into practice. The process has enabled me to no longer feel trapped. To feel empowered to take small steps and view self-care as a series of small daily conscious acts. 12.01.2022 Thank you to the women who came out to circle this morning. When i arrived i certainly had some doubts about changing the location to outdoors. The grass was a bit long and a little wet and it was spitting with rain slightly, but I got the message to just trust. ... We gathered sang mantra, went for a beautiful silent meditation walk, experienced a guided meditation and shared during sharing circle. It was such a gift to be outside, to connect to nature and breathe and be away for a moment from the outside world. Watch this space for next month's circle. For now i won't put the event up but will evaluate as we get closer to the date and make a decision from there. Stay well, calm and connected during this time. Much love
