25.01.2022 A busy-bee day on Monday with Happy Helpers ! New donated cupboards arrive and the President looking for the money behind the cupboard (members later lined up to give her a kick!). Our CWA room now has a "new look" - well new to us anyway. Thanks ladies for your hard work and to the blokes for added muscles in moving the furniture.

25.01.2022 Ok so the yarn is soaked and rinsed and stamped on in a towel but I'm a tad disappointed it's not straighter. It still has plenty of kinks. Drying now.

24.01.2022 Op Shop cancelled on Saturday 21 March - sorry everyone but we must take precautions during the Corona Virus outbreak. We assure customers that as soon as we can we will be back !! In the meantime, if you know of anyone who is isolated, please let us know and we will see what our CWA can do to help.. Phone 0410 149 850

22.01.2022 Stayed in ALL day today and knitted myself a pair of slippers from a really old Wendy double knit pattern from the 1960s. A good result.

22.01.2022 Spring is in the Air .. and our September meeting is tomorrow - Tuesday 8 September at 1.00 pm in the CWA meeting room. Bring an interesting item to "Show and Tell". Handicraft is from 10.00 am until 12.30 pm - either continue with State crafts, or bring your own - all welcome. Please bring something to share for a small afternoon tea.

19.01.2022 Wishing all our CWA friends throughout Australia and all our Womens Institute UK long distance pals a Very Happy Christmas and New Year from the members and friends of the SACWA Woodside Branch.

19.01.2022 Get Stuck In ! In this case into a Paella Valenciana ! The Spanish theme finishes the country of study for 2019. Thanks to Woodside members who contributed to a great day today.

18.01.2022 A wonderful day at Al Ru Farm - 10 acres of gardens and 600 metres of perennial borders - it all looked lush and green.

14.01.2022 Recycling an Aran wool jumper. I've tagged the front with a different colour only because it had more pills in it. Weighs 530 grams. Now to soak the wool.... More later.

13.01.2022 So this is your basic Anzac biscuit recipe which I double up and I usually add chopped walnuts to the ingredients - I also used "quick" porridge oats. Today I went mad and added a little extra as I'm trying to use up odds and sods from the pantry. I added some powdered skimmed milk (I don't know how much but a good shovelful), some old sultana's and the flour was a half bag of 00 Italian flour also left over. Result - delicious cookies ! Not as crispy as Anzac - but with the walnuts and sultanas - yummy - and the MOTH thought so too ! Get creative girls !

13.01.2022 TO ALL MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF SACWA WOODSIDE BRANCH a message from your President Mo Johnson. Please note that as from today Monday 23 March 2020 there will be no CWA meetings or Op Shop until further notice. This period of time could extend for the next 6 months. The Hills & Murray Arts Day also planned for 4 May at Golding Winery will also be postponed. It is disappointing I know, but as many of our members are in the older age group, it is only reasonable not to put ou...rselves and family and friends at risk of the COVID-19 virus. These are strange times. I am sure that you are all following the safety advice of the Government. Our Woodside members can keep in touch with one another via usual online or telecommunications. Finally, if any member finds themselves in any difficulty or feels isolated, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me on 0410 149 850 or indeed any member who can pass on a message. On behalf of myself and of all the Woodside CWA committee - may we wish you all the best and please keep in touch. Mo Johnson President SACWA Woodside Branch See more

12.01.2022 Enjoying handicraft at Woodside CWA today.

12.01.2022 Im pretty happy with the resulting hanks which the MOTH helped me to wind into balls by offering his arms and then told me how his mother used to moan at him too for not keeping up as she wound! I have 750 grams of Aran wool to reknit.

09.01.2022 WOODSIDE CWA DONATE ENTIRE OP-SHOP TO RELIEF BANK FOR FIRE-AFFECTED FAMILIES

08.01.2022 WOODSIDE CWA DONATE ENTIRE OP-SHOP TO RELIEF BANK FOR FIRE-AFFECTED FAMILIES - However - due to so much clothing and items being collected at the moment, and the collection centres being swamped with offers from you good people out there, we thought a better way would be for our WOODSIDE CWA OP-SHOP on the next market day on Saturday 18th January to GIVE AWAY to any fire-affected families as much clothing as they need. Everyone welcome to come along. We are also accepting donations for the relief fund at the same time. If any fire-affected family requires good quality clothes in the meantime, please contact Angela von Bertouch on 8398 0817. PLEASE HELP US TO HELP THEM ! On behalf of the Woodside branch of the SACWA we wish you all a very peaceful and reflective Christmas and New Year.

07.01.2022 Woodside CWA meets this Tuesday 11th August (in Covid-safe environment) at 10.00 am for handicrafts with Val and then 1.00 pm for general branch meeting. Small afternoon tea afterwards. Tea and coffee provided and a warm room to work in. New members welcome. Please note that members fees are now due - $65 plus $12 for two editions of the Countrywoman magazine. See you there ..!
