Horses with a cold, cough or viral respiratory disease When introducing new horses to a stable or paddock with other horses, often a time when respiratory viruses can strike When horses are in high intensity training or a stressful workload which can cause suppression of the immune system Before sending young horses to yearling preparation farms, breaking-in stables or other situations where they may have not previously been exposed to viral or bacterial infections. All horses travelling and competing with other unknown horses at events, where risk of cross-infection is high. After wounds, cuts or skin tears to help reduce the risk of secondary bacterial infection For improved skin regeneration and to help prevent severe scarring or proud flesh. We don't care what disciplines and background you have, but you need to have a passion for our four legged friends, be knowledgeable in their care, but also be willing and open to learning. Your mind will be blown by what you will learn and the amazing people you will learn from in this role. The job is all encompassing. First and ...foremost it is retail sales and customer service. You are there to help and serve our customers. You need to be resourceful, as we get some very challenging and peculiar situations almost on a daily basis. Then there is the grunt work of a retail shop. Unpacking deliveries, pricing, labeling, merchandising displays, dressing mannequins and cleaning shelves, the list is sometimes endless. I can assure you, there is never a time to be bored or idle in our shop. There is a lot of autonomy in the role, with the freedom and flexibility to bring your flavour into the team. What we will be offering the right person is 3 days per week, possibly with more days in peak seasons. In due course, you will be given generous staff perks and discounts. There is a high amount of physical work involved, so you need to be fit to carry out duties such as lifting hay bales and feed bags. 10.01.2022 Time for a new set of cottons on this little piece of cuteness. Poco was not too sure about the full hood, but with the rain, the clay (and his white patches ) and insects about he needed some extra protection. Hooding a horse is one of those things, I've realised they never really get used to at speed. I always try to remember to go super slow, remember their instincts, and the absolute trust they are giving us by go against every fibre of their flight response.... What does your horse never really get on board with the idea of? For Dan its Kangaroo's...all of them are killer and no matter how many times he sees them (multiple times a day at our place!) For Poco its taking things slowly especially where the ask is against his natural response.

07.01.2022 So, do you guys remember way back in May this year (it feels like it was 3 years ago I know ) I shared a few pics and vids of my horse Dan...and how terrible he looked??? Well, its been 5 months now (yes, ONLY 5 months ) and this is him today. If you saw the Insta story yesterday you will know just how fresh and well he is feeling . ... He has put a decent amount of weight on, he is super shiny and silky to touch, he has his sparkle back on the inside as well. All the changes I made were simple, balanced and didn't break the bank. They are sustainable for me to keep up long term. I'm stoked with the results and so happy to have my horse feeling happy and healthy again...despite also having 3 hoof abcesses back to back over winter and some thrush in his frogs So what did I do? 1. Diet changes - switched from pasture hay to lucerne hay - added Hygain Micronised Lupins (1kg/day) - added CEN Nutrition Cen Oil and Xtra Balance - increased existing ration Pellets to 2kg AM AND PM 2. Body Work Dan has had 5 sessions with Robyn from Equine Miracle in this time frame 3. Teeth done under sedation by the Veterinarian. 4. De-Wormed regularly, most recently with Equest to treat for encysted small red worms (the most problematic worm for horses in Australia). Will be starting on Strategy T for rotation next dosing. 5. Yearly booster 2 in 1 vaccination for Tetanus and Strangles 6. Lots of stetches, pole ground work and lunging I suppose it was a timely reminder that the regular health prevention and basic nutrition elements are vital and can save the big vet bills (which we had at the start of 2020 ). We have all learnt a lot this year thanks to Dan's plight. As horse peoplewe never stop learning. We have been lucky to discover some wonderful new products and services along the way...all available in store.
