25.01.2022 With heavy rains and floods continuing to threaten homes and businesses along the NSW coast, The Salvation Army Emergency Services (SAES) and our incredible vol...unteers are still activated at evacuation sites across the state. SAES volunteers and Salvos have been catering to evacuees, volunteers and staff working at these centres, providing more than 1600 meals across most sites in the first 48 hours since mobilising on Friday afternoon. The Australian Government Disaster Recovery Payment is available to those affected by the storms and floods. For details on how to apply, go to: https://fal.cn/3eak5 A huge thank you to our volunteers, SAES and NSW SES for their hard work. We urge everyone to take care as heavy falls are expected across the state in the coming days. For emergency help in floods and storms, call the NSW State Emergency Service on 132 500. In life threatening situations call triple zero (000) immediately. For updates on our response: https://fal.cn/3eak4 #TheSalvationArmy #SydneyFloods #NSWFloods

15.01.2022 Our mission is to share the love of Jesus one life at a time! Maintaining long term connection and relationship with everyone we meet. This is our second week ...re-connecting with our new Covid 19 Outreach run around the Bellarine. Covering: Drysdale, Clifton Springs, Portarlington, Indented Head, St Leonards, Queenscliff, Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads. We hope to maintain and build on these relationships so community can be strengthened, empowered and even more deeply connected. Our list is growing daily and today we even discovered another homeless lady living in her car.

15.01.2022 The challenging times we’ve been facing have truly brought out the best in many from our Bellarine Salvo community, especially those first responders, front-lin...ers and volunteers who have been working to keep us all safe. Captains Peter and Diane Hobbs and all of our Bellarine Salvo Family would like to thank all the front line heroes who have put their health and well-being on the line for our community every day. "Saying thank you doesn't seem enough for your service," says Captain Peter Hobbs. "You have all stepped up throughout the lockdown without hesitation, knowing all the risks of catching COVID 19". We have had amazing salvos Tim and Alex Page-Walker provide us, free of charge, with PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). The provision of the new Surf Coast Sanitiser has meant we have had zero cases of COVID amongst our Salvo community, despite our intense community contact with the communities most vulnerable. This has definitely been a contributor to keeping us safe. So as well as our heartfelt thanks for your bravery and courage we have produced this tribute video in honour of your sacrifice and fearless commitment to others. We thank God for you and we salute you! But recognising also that now as we reopen our Thrift Shops there will be more heroes to honour. 13.01.2022 We are excited thanks to the recent messages from our The Salvation Army - Victoria Division leadership, to announce our outreach teams are Stepping Up. Our team of over 40 volunteers from our Bellarine Salvo Outreach Van are also being equipped ready for duty with our local Emergency Services teams. We have been intentionally giving on the job training and equipping our teams, through the Outreach Van ministry. Teaching the importance of listening, human dignity and supp...ort without discrimination. This intentional training means Outreach Van participants are also willing to be participants in our ever expanding Emergency Services Strike teams. We are ready to support the Surf Coast Shire Council this summer in the chance of a major fire event in the Otways. Thanks so much to the encouraging and empowering support of The Salvation Army Emergency Services Victoria. Your support is amazing.

13.01.2022 We would have been collecting for the Red Shield Appeal this weekend but we can’t so please consider clicking on this link to donate to our virtual door knock. The Bellarine Salvo Outreach Van will be out every day this week checking in on those who can’t get out, struggling with their mental health or may have missed out on essentials due to panic buying. https://community.salvationarmy.org.au/t/bellarine-salvos
