18.01.2022 Good morning to our wonderful fans and supporters! I just want to give you all some insight into what the hospitality industry faces on a daily basis as we and every other business tried to navigate a way through a pandemic. Yesterday our daughter and manager was abused over the phone because we refused to take a booking of more than 10.... We are very aware that restrictions come into effect on Friday but is is OUR choice as owner operators how we implement policies to keep our customers, our staff and the wider community at hand safe. We were accused of not following social distancing rules previously so why start now Let me first tell you that though the duration of reopening we have implemented cleaning policies, sanitisation policies, set markers on floors, moved tables, we use hospital grade disinfectant wipes on every surface. Further to this we have spent a substantial amount investing heavily in a new POS system and digital menus tablets so that customers can have minimal contact with staff. The majority of our wonderful customers are very compliant and understanding, however of late what we are seeing a little too often are some diners refusing to remain seated, abusing staff because they are told to social distance or sign in and they don’t want to, and arguing with our policies. I simply cannot say this enough, if you are planning on abusing our house policies and our staff then please stay at home, we and many others are doing our everything to see that we stay in business and have business continuity for the future. The selfishness that we witness on a daily basis is the very reason we will head into a second lockdown. Our rules will remain and for the next period of time we will not be taking bookings of over 10. No, we will not bend the rules and no we will not separate the tables and seat you next to each other at the same time. If you feel the need to abuse myself or staff because you don’t want to follow our policies then please chose another venue. We have spent an exhausting amount of time analysing our table maps and booking slots so that customers seated next to the adjoining table have as least amount of contact as possible. Some consecutive tables are booked and hour apart or more....this is so that contact can be avoided as much as possible keeping risk as low as possible. We have removed glasses, menus, and salt and pepper shakers from tables to minimise risk To be told we are not following social distancing regulations is a slap in the face to what the industry has already been through. Our regulations will stand as it is for the greater good of stopping the spread. Thanks so much for your support and understanding on this
