Don’t want to pay mortgage insurance? Save a 20% deposit. However, mortgage insurance does help get you into the market a lot sooner. 2. Enough income for the bank to lend the money. In today’s market, purchasing in $600k mark, you need an income of $60-70k, depending on situation. 3. Can you afford it? Can you afford to hold that property on a week-by-week basis? Interest rates are extremely low right now, so factor in some buffer as interest rates rise. Other factors to remember: payments on mortgage, rates, insurance, water and maintenance. Anthony got into the market when he was 28. He could’ve probably got in sooner but fear held him back.
