25.01.2022 Hey guys!! My name is Simba, and I’m the newest boy at SAFE Goldfields Lucky for me, I have a new home already!! There’s a family for me in Perth, but problem is I can’t drive there myself So I was wondering if there’s a nice human out there that wouldn’t mind me hitch hiking a ride to Perth with them? As you can see, I’m a small doggo, and don’t take up much space. I’m told I’m good company as well, so we can make a road trip out of it! If you can give me a ride to my new family, please contacts the humans at SAFE Goldfields
25.01.2022 **UPDATE - FOSTER FOUND thank you all very much!** Beautiful sharpei mix Noodles has been in SAFE Goldfields care for about a month getting her vet work done ready for adoption but her current carer needs to leave Kalgoorlie urgently! If you could provide a warm, loving place for a young girl with a huge amount of energy and lots of cuddles to give please get in touch ASAP!!
25.01.2022 Thank you to everyone that has shared, supported and applied for the Community Desex Program 2020! The response has been fantastic and we are so HAPPY to see so many animals will get desexed! This week our wonderful volunteers have diligently worked behind the scenes to ensure we get the best possible outcome for the community and applicants and we will be in contact to the CONDITIONALLY APPROVED applicants. ... They will be provided with a very important pack of paperwork to be completed and returned ASAP so that the vets can get busy! Unfortunately the Grant Funds only go so far and there will be some animals that we can't get to this round. We will be shortlisting these applicants so that, should any of the conditionally approved applicants not complete their paperwork and/or vet work, then the next person will be contacted. Kindest regards, Marylou Branch Coordinator - SAFE Goldfields

23.01.2022 Playful Polly Available for Adoption Apollo Female 9wks GC0291 This sweet little girl is about 8-9wks of age. She is very friendly, curious & playful. She loves to jump and pounce on her foster buddies and enjoys climbing around the catio.... She would be great with kids, although she needs to work on her manners a bit and learning to be gentle when playing with tiny fingers, and would definitely be suited to having a play mate. If you are intetested in adopting Apollo, please send us an enquiry https://aus02a.sheltermanager.com/service
23.01.2022 A new disease has been found in dogs in the Kimberley and Pilbara called ehrlichiosis. Dogs become infected when an infected brown dog tick bites them. These ti...cks are common in northern WA. How do I know if my dog has ehrlichiosis? The signs of ehrlichiosis vary. Some dogs dont look very sick while in severe cases dogs may: have a high temperature not move much be off their food lose weight have a runny eyes or nose have unusual bleeding or bruising. You can reduce the risk of your dogs getting sick and ehrlichiosis spreading by following the steps below: 1. Know the signs of ehrlichiosis 2. Contact a vet or 1800 675 888 if your dog has signs of ehrlichiosis. 3. Treat your dog for ticks regularly, as well as their bedding and the yard. 4. Check your dog every day for ticks and remove any you find. For more information, visit www.agric.wa.gov.au/ehrlichiosis
22.01.2022 **FOSTER CARE REQUIRED** Our two beautiful ginger brothers Blaze and Barty are in need of a new foster home before 10th of June! They are adult cats and must be fostered together! 22.01.2022 **FOSTER CARE REQUIRED - BEFORE FRIDAY 11/06/20**
19.01.2022 Hi guys - some of you may have noticed that the reply rate has been a bit slow recently. Unfortunately, the Coordinator for SAFE Goldfields, Marylou, has been struggling with a cold whilst still working full time, doing adoptions and handling a full house of fosters. Her cold has taken a turn for the worse this week (dont worry, its not Covid ) and so she will be taking a much deserved and needed rest from SAFE duties until Monday, 3rd of August. In the meantime:... If you have a stray animal - you must contact the KBC Pound. The Rangers and staff there are amazing people that SAFE works closely with and they do their upmost to re-home any stray, abandoned or surrendered animal. The public do not need to fear that they euthanize unclaimed animals - this is a misconception from the past. All abandoned and stray animals legally must be processed through the KBC Pound. If you have an animal to rehome - please still contact us, just be aware that replies may be slow until Monday. Adoption enquiries - again, please still contact us but be aware that replies will be slow until Monday. All currently available animals are in the albums and on our website. Thank you all for your support in this time - Marylou does not take the decision to take time off lightly, as the needs of the animals and families alike are always in her mind.

19.01.2022 Pending Adoption GC0196 Male DLH Approx 3 months $250 Hi! Im Bugsy, a newbie in the SAFE program. Im soon to visit the vet to get checked and will be ready for a permanent home soon!... Bugsy is such an adorable, playful kitten that is one of a kind - he was named Bugsy by his foster carers because hes a bobtail kitten that reminded them of Bugs Bunny when he bounces around! He is full of energy but love, love, LOVES to cuddle his humans. He loves his food and will meow when hes ready for more! Hes very playful and adores his little scratching post or playing tag with the foster carers small dog! We believe Bugsy will do well in any loving household - with or without cats and dogs as hes a snuggle extraordinaire. History: Bugsy was released into SAFE Goldfields care from the KBC Pound as a stray kitten. I CAN FLY TO PERTH! Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth. 6 GREAT REASONS TO ADOPT FROM SAFE: Lifetime guarantee: if you can no longer care for me, SAFE will take me back Discounted airfares Adoption fee includes vet check, first vaccination, desex and microchip Foster care instead of cage confinement, so I get lots of love and socialisation Speak directly with my foster carer Quick response to your enquiry APPLY TO ADOPT ME Am I the one for you? Click on the link and complete an application. If you fill it in with as much info as you can, it will speed up the adoption process, so I could be with you in no time!
17.01.2022 FOSTER CARERS NEEDED We are in desperate need for both Dog and Cat Foster carers! Without carers we are unable to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome our communities unwanted pets. CAN YOU HELP??
17.01.2022 There is a common misconception that shelters and rescue groups charge more than those who breed and sell kittens via Gumtree, Facebook etc. If you have visited... the Pets Buy and Sell groups on Facebook you will understand what we mean. For those who have thought this in the past and possibly think it now please grab a calculator, a cup of tea, a comfy chair and feel free to do the math for yourself. You could also call around vets in Perth and see what rates they offer as well. This post is about educating those who don't understand the work and love that go into our rescue animals. This post is about saying "yes" to saving lives and "no" to supporting those who add to them being at risk of homelessness and euthanasia. This post is about giving credit to our wonderful, selfless and amazing carers who work so darn hard to help these innocent beings and then have to see posts from those who don't understand what rescue is all about, just running all groups down. This post is about not falling victim to "free to good home". Most of all, this post is about putting thought into finding a forever friend. Know breeds, know the care needs, know your circumstances are stable, know you can provide financially and love them for life. This is not a dig to those who have found themselves on hard times - as we extend our hands out to help those and those who we have helped in the past can tell you we don't judge - we educate. What we are doing with this post is planting a seed of thought..... A thought into your head that maybe just maybe being a foster carer may be more suitable for your life style, a thought that maybe yes you are ready for a new family member or a thought that maybe you need a little more time. A thought that negative comments about shelters and rescues ripping people off may just be wrong. You can make a difference to lives today and look at it all from a different perspective. Learn more about what each rescue group stands for, what their mission is. Take the time to see the work that goes into each group and the difference between adopting and free to good home. As always, Thank you for your support PRA TEAM
17.01.2022 Weve had a wonderful response so far to the Community Desex Program! Thank you to everyone sharing & getting the word out. Just a reminder that you need to contact SAFE Goldfields - via the Facebook Page or [email protected] - if you have questions or how to apply. Please dont contact the KBC Pound as theyll just forward you to us anyway

Hes currently quite shy but allows you to pick him up and will make a beautiful family cat when he grows up as hes only 3 months old. I CAN FLY TO PERTH! 05.01.2022 ** Foster Care Needed Urgently ** - 8 y/o desexed male cat. Friendly & trained. - 4 month tabby kitten - very timid, needs handling and a calm household. Cat friendly. Kitty litter trained. ... If you are available and interested in foster care, please get in contact ASAP
05.01.2022 Hello wonderful people! SAFE Goldfields volunteers were holding a stall at Boulder Markets this morning and would love to thank you all for your support. Unfortunately there has been an incident witnessed between a lady and her dog, which has then been captured and posted by the concerned citizen with our stall in the picture. ... We would like to let the public know that this was NOT one of our volunteers, however we also do not appreciate the public name & shame style of the post on Lets Talk Kalgoorlie. Its a damaging misrepresentation of a situation to include our rescue group and for the person involved. This is NOT what SAFE Goldfields is about. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Marylou via DM on the page.
05.01.2022 **TRANSFERRED TO SAFE METRO** This beautiful big boy is looking for a lift down to his new family! Rufus has travelled a long distance from Warburton to Kalgoorlie without much trouble so were sure he will make a lovely travel companion! He is a big boy though so will take up a seat all to himself!
04.01.2022 A reminder that the best practice for stray animals is to contact the KBC Pound. SAFE Goldfields cannot take responsibility for stray animals. Often animals are prevented from getting to their owners quicker because people are too "worried" to liaise with the local government ranger service. We work closely with the KBC Rangers. Theyre great people and go above and beyond to reunite animals with their owners in our opinion. Regardless of how wonderful the Rangers are - at the end of the day ALL stray animals must be processed by the Pound and we cannot, and will not, bypass that law.

02.01.2022 ADOPTED GD106 Male Chihuahua Cross 4 years $500 Hi! Im Max - Ive come back to SAFE as things werent quite the right match at my last adoption and now Im ready to find a permanent home. Im also getting a professional photoshoot done soon so youll be able to see how gorgeous I really am!... Max is a sweet, friendly and clever little dog who enjoys cuddles, tummy rubs and his daily walks. He likes to sit beside you and will jump in the bed for a good night cuddle or a good morning greeting - otherwise he likes his own bed. He loves routine and can take a little time to settle into a new home. Max is fully house trained and able to sit on command. Hes shy around strangers but has been in a family with older children and is especially well suited to a life with older, perhaps retired people as hes a complete little gentleman companion. He is friendly with other dogs but it is recommended that he remains on a lead as he will run away when spooked. Max enjoys the car and having his little head out the window! Max would suit a home with an active retiree that can provide lots of love, cuddles and walks! Calm, older children and not too many strangers will help Max settle better as his last adoption was within a home day-care situation and he found that stressful. I CAN FLY TO PERTH! Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth. 6 GREAT REASONS TO ADOPT FROM SAFE: Lifetime guarantee: if you can no longer care for me, SAFE will take me back Discounted airfares Adoption fee includes vet check, first vaccination, desex and microchip Foster care instead of cage confinement, so I get love and socialisation Speak directly with my foster carer Quick response to your enquiry APPLY TO ADOPT ME Am I the one for you?
