24.01.2022 Ask yourself- Are you compliant! Compliance today is an important management issue and there appears to be confusion among some management and business owners as to whether or not, and to what extent businesses are covered by the new Australian Standard AS 3745-2010, which came into effect on the 25th November 2010. AS3745-2010 specifically states that every facility must have in place anemergency evacuation management plan, mandatory evacuation diagramsand a annual emergenc...y control program providing training for wardens atintervals of not greater than six months. This is achieved by ensuring that appropriate safety and a revised emergency response procedures and training (now called a Emergency Evacuation Management Plan) is in place for the benefit of all staff, tenants and visitors to your facility. The new EEMP must document the organisational arrangements, systems, strategies and procedures relating to the response and management of emergencies. The emergency plan must include a number of elements, including separate sections for the following: (i) The emergency identification outcomes (ii) The emergency response procedures, in accordance with Section 4 (iii) The evacuation diagram, in accordance with clause 3.15 (iv) Training arrangements, in accordance with Section 6. There are now new minimum requirements for Evacuation Diagrams which must be displayed in common areas in order to comply with AS3745 and avoid exposure to potential litigation. If you feel we can help to make your business compliant with the legislation.. Dont hesitate to ask for an appointment.
