24.01.2022 Great work to all of the drivers and companies involved!! keep it shiny side up

24.01.2022 I have met many drivers that could greatly benefit from this. It isn't new and it has some strict guidelines. Companies get onto it! If you need help or advice please call!!

24.01.2022 Massive issue in the industry! companies create policies because the law says they need to but do they actually work? In most cases the answer is no. Companies talk to your people on the ground, find out what works and what doesn't. Engage a professional to help you! The extra time will reap huge financial rewards in the short and long term!

23.01.2022 I constantly hear bad stories about people getting taken for rides, given poor service, poor products and poor information. Why hire an ametuer who will end up costing you more in the long run because the job was never done correctly to start with? Don't do what so many others do. Learn from others mistakes. Spend a little more, gain a lot more and end up spending less because the job was done right the first time. Hire a pro, ask to see their qualifications and proof of experience, ask for references. Keep it shiny side up and make those miles.

21.01.2022 Very interesting, however you can't beat a beating heart and selfaware driver

20.01.2022 A good article with some good points. Seeing a lawyer is not always affordable for many as they can be very expensive, however reaching out to people in the industry can help you save on costs and get you headed in the right direction. We can help you to understand the law and make sure you are on the right track without the price tag of a lawyer. A good lawyer is always a good decision when matters are complex and or may have very poor outcomes for drivers or companies. An... experienced lawyer will be able to more easily solve issues in the early phases and will have their clients best interests at the forefront. Dont bother with road house lawyers, seek out proffesionals. Get the right info the first time. Save yourself the stress and money. A little money spent early on will help to save you alot more later on.

20.01.2022 Follow up article, very good points raised

20.01.2022 Great news for those on BFM and AFM, but my question is what, when, how? The information is not clear. Will update when I get further answers

20.01.2022 This is something I used to see far too often when I was a QT Inspector. Unfortunately the most common cause of drivers getting into this much trouble is because they have never been taught or shown in a way they understand. Companies are responsible for training their drivers and now supervisors, managers and executives can be held personally liable. If you are a driver please ask for help. A call wont cost you anything. If not from us, ask your local scaley. Get it from th...e horses mouth. If you own or run a company please get in touch. A small cost now will save you thousands and your reputation later. We pride ourselves in making things simple and teaching the unteachable.

19.01.2022 These regulations are in desperate need of change and updating! Quality sleep is a key prevention measure in reducing fatigue related accidents.

18.01.2022 Hi everyone. For the Etheridge Shire council contractors please email your details. I have found further information about the AFM that directly applies to you and is very important. Please email asap and or call me! 0421594058 Regards Dave

16.01.2022 For those up north. Great job. All Hours Towing good to see locals helping locals

16.01.2022 Good to see some things are moving forward

15.01.2022 100% agree that there needs to be compulsary training. There are people and companies that offer training, however be carefull as many companiesare just out for a quick buck and the detail is not there. We specialise in teaching the "unteachable". Please take the step forward and call us for help. All training is backed with law and delivered by a former DOT Inspector.

15.01.2022 Hi everyone. Please pass the word around to anyone you know around the North Brisbane area about the Defence Veteran Owned Business Expo being held at Deception Bay 3 Nov 19. 14.01.2022 Hi all, I am looking for a trucking company based at or nearish to Caboolture, Burpengary areas that currently holds NHVAS accreditation in either Mass, Maintenance or Fatigue modules. I am in the process of becoming an approved auditor and the last step is to be assessed whilst conducting an audit on a NHVAS module. The audit will not be registered with NHVR, however it can be used as an internal audit. The audit cost is FREE and I can come in and conduct the audit at any ...suitable time. Please contact me via my business page Safeguard Transport Consultants or via my mobile 0421594058 for further details. This is a great opportunity for any company to gain some free help and get a free audit. TIA Dave

13.01.2022 An older article from the US, however sleep apnea is a major issue for Australian drivers too. If you know someone who could be affected, encourage them to see their GP. It could just save a life. https://www.123loadboard.com/blog/sleep-apnea-truck-drivers/

13.01.2022 Hi everyone. I hope you are all safe and well and cracking along with business in these tough times. For anyone in the Cairns region I will be in the area from 23 Aug until 5 September. For those in Townsville, Mackay and Rockhampton areas I will be coming back through from 5 September. Big or small company l, we deal with them all! No job too small and if you need help just a phone call away. Please call Dave on 0421594058. Best wishes to all and keep it shiny side up.

13.01.2022 Ahh the good old days. Funnily enough I got to learn in one of these alomg with a series 2 ex army land rover.

13.01.2022 I can see both sides to this. My question is what about all the other road users? Why are the fatigue laws not more easily applied to all road users?

11.01.2022 This is the time to get in your local MP's ear. Raise your concerns and push them through!!!

09.01.2022 Come on down to the Deception Bay Community Hall and check out what our home grown veteran businesses have to offer. Jumping castle and rock climbing wall for the kids, coffee and bbq for all. If you are a truck driver, bring your work diary and come and see me. 5 min chat might just save you thousands in fines!

08.01.2022 The article below is talking about a bad explosion that resulted from a truck incident in 2014. The key point I want to highlight is regarding chain of responsibility. Oct last year the laws were updated and chain of responsibility laws were expanded and additons were made aligning the laws more closely with the WHS Act. What this means (using the article as an example) is that when an incident occurs not just the driver and the company can be held at fault, but also any per...son in the chain that had an influence on the task or event happening at the time of incident ie line haul manager, loader, supervisor etc. My question to CEOs, managers, executives is what have you done, what will you do to ensure all parties are covered when an incident occurs? A minor incident can very quickly become a major and very costly issue if the prep work and compliant actions are not taken early. This is where I can be highly valuable to your company. I urge companies to take steps now, don't wait. A small cost now is minuet in comparison to when an incident occurs. Think of compliance actions as an insurance policy. Can your company survive losing a truck, employee injury, court penalties, legal fees?

08.01.2022 BIG NEWS!!!! After many hours behind the scenes work finally received accreditation as a NHVAS Approved Auditor with all scopes! Can now offer NHVAS Auditing on the following scopes:... Basic and Advanced Fatigue Management Mass Management Maintenance Management Based in the Caboolture/ Woodford area however, travel all through QLD and interstate is available as required. Will take a few days for the NHVR website to be updated but all systems go. Please pass this around to all of your contacts and contact via mobile or email if you need any further information.

07.01.2022 Hi all. Something different but very close to my heart. Coco is an awesome inspiration for myself and is someone I have the utmost respect for. I was on the same tour in Afghanistan with Coco and a mate of mine was the first on scene to him. He and his family have been through so much and overcome massive hurdles. I personally have been to far too many funerals of mates. This app might just be the one thing that saves a life. Please share this post to anyone you know, get o...n board and support however you can. Great job Coco, you are an inspiration to us all.

05.01.2022 Driving while fatigued can be a one way trip to a dead end. This driver is going to court charged with allegedly unlicensed driving and critical fatigue driving. He also copped about $1200 in fines. In 2020 nearly 1 in 5 (19.1%) fatal crashes in QLD fatigue played a role #fatalfive

03.01.2022 Complaints about fatigue are the most common calls to the NHVR's Heavy Vehicle Confidential Reporting Line. The reporting line answers around 115 calls and resp...onds to over 65 reports of non-compliance nationwide every month - almost one-third of these relating to fatigue concerns. The line is a confidential tool for parties in the industry to report transport safety issues and allows the NHVR to gather information that can help make our roads safer for all users. Anyone with a safety concern can call the HVCRL on 1800 931 785 weekdays between 7am-4.30pm (AEST). More here https://bit.ly/2U7JFKE

03.01.2022 Some will say this is caused by poor maintenance or lack of and others will say its a parts failure. Having been a heavy vehicle mechanic for 15 years and a former DOT Inspector I can say that both sides are potentially correct. The main point is how do we minimise the risk of this happening? Easy answer is a solid and thorough maintenance process and procedure coupled with education of drivers and regular checks/ walk arounds during the journey. ... Any mechanic or driver will normally say maintenance is the first budget cut. Unfortunately this is still very true for many companies operating in the current environment. However look from the perspective of the parent of the kids in the car that was hit but a rogue set of duals rolling down the highway at 100km/h. Have you checked your combination? Have you reported the issues? Are you putting your childrens lives at risk? Stay safe all. Keep it shiny side up

02.01.2022 The below is a good example of where misunderstanding and being time poor can lead to an expensive day. I maintain my comment in the post below that the NSW traffic may have made an error and potentially the driver could have been charged with another offence. Without knowing the full story it's hard to confirm, but for all of you ask for help. Don't take what a road house lawyer has told you as verbatim. Talk to a proffesional. Get the right advice and save yourself thousands in fines and legal costs. Safe travels all and keep it shiny side up.

02.01.2022 Having previously been directly involved in these I can say that it is a great opportunity to hear it from the horse direct. Pull on, ask for help, get things straight. Keep it shiny side up

01.01.2022 Hi everyone could you please share to anyone you know that either drives, employs or uses heavy vehicles to join a new group Australian Truckies Toolbox. This group has been setup to help get the right information out to those that need it most. The group is sponsored by Safeguard Transport Consultants. Big thanks to Matt Heisner for helping to get it created. TIA

01.01.2022 Great win for all the aggy drivers out there!!
