He came in all banged up and had to get stitches because when his mum got hit by the car, he got thrown out of the pouch and scraped on the road Now, Archie is having lots of time outside in the sun and enjoying his bottles very much. He’s recovering very well and almost weighs 2kg! ... . . . . . . . . . . #kangaroo #joey #easterngreykangaroo #rescue #wildliferescue #wildlifecarer #wildlife #conservation #wildlifeconservation #rehabilitation #wildliferehab #safehaven #AACE See more

Usually 95% of our income is generated through visitors and donations. We are completely run by volunteers and have found ourselves ineligible for many of the government subsidies due to not having any paid staff. Our work has continued, we are still rescuing, rehabilitating and maintaining our existing wildlife. 14.01.2022 URGENT FUNDS OR 4WD REQUIRED Safe Haven - AACE NEEDS OUR HELP!!!... Remember little Grub? All the wombat Wednesdays? Well, the team at AACE desperately need our help. We cannot foot the bill alone and desperately need your help. AACE have been left without a rescue vehicle! This is a disaster and puts all the animals in rehabilitation at risk, and deems rescue of injured wildlife in the area non existent. Evacuation in a fire or flood also made impossible without a vehicle able to tow. Located in Gladstone and central Queensland, nothing is ‘just around the corner’ for these wildlife heroes. They cover an incredibly large area and simply cannot be without a sound vehicle. They previously had a vehicle donated but it is no longer fit for use. The past month alone they clocked up: 1000km in koala trauma rescues 900km for koala transport and back to aus zoo for eye surgery 1000km to take two koalas to release sites 300km to rescue an echidna 900km from sea to vet and back again for a 50kg turtle 600km to pick up 4 joeys from Rockhampton vets and take to sanctuary 1100km collecting fortnightly donated sweet spuds (Thanks Mortimers!) 1750km (over 100km every 2 days) to gain leaf fodder for koalas 350km travelling to schools & workplaces for education on & conservation work That’s almost TEN THOUSAND KM IN ONE MONTH. Whilst simultaneously caring for the property with over 100 animals in rehabilitation They cannot do this without a sound vehicle. They will not be able to rescue or respond. Getting to vets and surgeons will be next to impossible. Animals will suffer. PLEASE HELP US HELP THEM BY DONATING HERE: PayPal [email protected] Bank Deposit NAB Australian Animals Care and Education BSB: 084662 ACC: 678428529 Donations over $2 are tax deductible. Alternatively if you know of a business or person wanting to donate a reliable 4WD please contact us. We to will be supporting this cause and contributing to the kitty. And don’t forget, if nothing else, share this post
14.01.2022 This is Harry, a 4 year old male Koala who has been released at Goondicum. He was rescued in the Monto area by our wonderful friends at Safe Haven - AACE who c...ared for him around the clock for 6 weeks. After a short stay with the team at Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors he received a clean bill of health for release! He is a big strong boy and we're hoping he will now be on the lookout for a Monto girlfriend....in case anyone in the area is interested, he is sporting a red coloured ear tag no. 3979. See more
14.01.2022 It’s getting hot out here Remember to leave some water out for our wildlife! A bowl or bucket usually is fine but make sure to leave a stick in it so that the smaller animals can get out if they fall in

13.01.2022 PM Morrison and Premier Andrews have bypassed Federal environmental laws and made a deal to allow logging in Victoria's native forest that survived the bushfire...s. Our threatened species are already being pushed to the brink of extinction, and now, forest areas that could provide crucial recovery habitat will be logged. Find out more here: www.foe.org.au/vic_rfa_10years Graphic thanks to Friends of the Earth Australia.
