25.01.2022 SEEKING DONATIONS OF WOMBAROO MILK AND LITTER PLEASE Meet our youngest SAFE Hedland feline - Harlow. Harlow is a hungry bubba and we are asking for donations of Wombaroo Kitten powdered milk please, bottles and baby teats - all available from the vets. ... We are also in need of kitty litter, litter tray liners, beds, blankets, puppy pee pads and litter trays. Our preferred litter are the recycled pellet kind as kittens tend to try and eat it - but we will accept anything. We are a non for profit organization and rely heavily on community donations and support. Any donations can be dropped to South Hedland vets where our volunteers will collect - with many thanks
24.01.2022 ADOPTION PENDING HC1676 Boo Fluffy Boo is a much sort after kitten. A 7 week old white/beige with grey tips - she almost resembles a Birman or Ragdoll X. A long haired kitten who will require daily grooming to help keep her coat in tip top condition and avoid matting. She is the only kitten in her litter of 6, who is light in colour with these markings. ... Boo is described as 100% adventurous who is on the go 24/7 and has zero fear - she loves to get into mischief! She is in care with 2 of her siblings - so a home with another kitty for company or one of her siblings would be ideal. Boo will be available for adoption after her 8 week needles. Please email [email protected] for more information or to arrange a meet and greet with Boo and her siblings
24.01.2022 HD2169 - Pandora. Pandora is a bull mastiff x large breed girl who is about 18 months old. She is ready and looking for a caring and structured new home. Basically left to her own devices up until now they don't know much in the way of training or house manners. Pandora is used to being outside so hasn't learnt toilet training. She has a heart of gold and is quite affectionate. She would benefit from a home with plenty of yard space for her to hang around in and someone who has a bit of experience with big dogs. Because of her size we do not advise her to be with small kids as she could easily knock them over not realising her size. Pandora will come vaccinated, microchipped and de-sexed for an adoption fee of $500. For more information please email [email protected]
22.01.2022 We know the festive season is great for giving gifts, and the gift of saving a life is better than any! But we ask that before you gift an animal this Christmas... you remember to love them for life, and not just Christmas. Regardless of if it's a rescue or from a breeder, please consider the costs and commitments that come with animal ownership. Of course we know life happens, and circumstances change and we hold no judgement for people who have to re home their pets and we are here to support them through the process. We are simply asking that this Christmas you consider every aspect of pet ownership before you make the incredible decision of saving a life. Dogs Trust said it best when they told us to "A dog is for life, not just for Christmas" So spread the love this Christmas and if your family is ready for a furry family then why not support your local rescues? Otherwise if you're looking for a great surprise for an animal lover in your life please consider a donation to a local animal rescue instead! #SAFEmetro #adoptforlife #Christmas2020
22.01.2022 HC1651 Kiki Meet our mumma cat Kiki. Boy oh boy has she come such a long way from the protective, stray mumma that first came into care. A massive credit and kudos to her patient and loving foster carers who never gave up on her and cheered her on with each milestone! Kiki has bid farewell to her babies - she was a wonderful mum - even to orphan babies whom she cared for as her own. She is now desexed and had all of her vet work done! She is now looking for that human and ho...me just for her! If you’d like to meet Kiki; please email Mick at [email protected]
22.01.2022 HC1738 Audrey Hello there feline lovers. My name is Audrey. I assume that as you are reading my bio you are interested in being my hooman slave, woops I mean, adopting a feline. Go no further! I prefer not to dwell too much on my past life. I think I may have had a home, but circumstances saw my siblings and I on the streets living rough. Some nice people used to leave food out for us, (but their dogs didn't like cats). So I know humans can be caring.... In typical teen style I rebelled despite mum's words of warning, becoming a teen mum. I fortunately was rescued a few weeks ago and thanks to fostering, I am now enjoying regular feeds, toys, a soft blanket and most importantly, love. I really enjoy having pats and back scratches too. I am still wary when I am not comfortable, but I am learning to trust slowly. So if you think you are the person who could be my furever hooman, please arrange to meet me and we can come to a mutually acceptable arrangement. Please email Mick at [email protected] Love and purrs Audrey
20.01.2022 ADOPTED BONDED PAIR HC1780 Neva (grey w/white paws female) &... HC1781 Elden (grey tabby male) 5 month old siblings Neva & Elden found themselves homeless on Christmas Eve - their Christmas wish was to find a home that was safe and off the streets, together. Their wish came true and this lovely duo are in foster care together - with plenty of kittie beds to sleep in, toys and children to play with. We are looking for a home that will take both kittens as they are a bonded pair. They are both very loving and calm kitties who are enjoying the attention of their foster family and foster kitties. Please email [email protected] if you’d like to arrange a meet and greet with this bonded pair
20.01.2022 HC1616 Seba (tabby female) & HC1618 Neo (dark male) TRIAL ADOPTION Meet 10 week old siblings Seba & Neo. Hand reared from 2 days of age - these guys think they’re little humans. Both kittens are loving, friendly and happy. They are used to being held, washed, groomed and are currently in care with older resident feline and foster kittens. ... Both kittens would enjoy a home with friendly established pets for company or a home together. They will make a lovely addition to a family who can give them plenty of toys, will hold them and their undivided attention. Please email [email protected] to arrange a meet and greet with either Neo &/or Seba
20.01.2022 **HAPPY ENDINGS ARE OUR GAME** This beautiful girl came into care as raggedy skin and bones, just look how much she has changed!! She had an infection that required urgent surgery, and we're so lucky to be able to provide her with a fantastic new life.... This is the work we do, and the work our amazing community helps us achieve every day. It does cost more than we get back in adoption fees though, and this is where our supporters come in. Please consider donating as an ongoing weekly or fortnightly or even monthly amount. It doesn't have to be a lot, anything we get we are so grateful for. Anything over $2 is tax deductible, and 100% of the money is spent on the animals. We also appreciate donations of cat litter, wet & dry food, collars/leads and crates. 19.01.2022 Christmas is a time of giving and sharing with those around us, but that sharing is not limited to those that we love and care for. It is also about the person... or animal that we have never met and will never see; those that are not so fortunate in their lives as we are and that could use a helping hand. You too can give and share by supporting SAFE Inc. Have you ever wondered what your donation helps us to achieve? Every Dollar Counts Your donation, no matter how big or small, helps SAFE to continue helping the animals who need us. $5 Treat Us Your donation of $5 goes toward providing nutritious treats to the animals in SAFEs care. Providing treats decreases stress and assists with training opportunities which will provide animals with the best opportunities to find their new home sooner. $10 Nurturing Enrichment Your donation goes toward providing the animals in SAFE’s care with enrichment toys. These toys provide animals with activities that increase their physical and mental activity levels, leading to a happier and healthier animal. $15 Food Fund By donating to our food fund you’re helping SAFE provide the animals in our care with quality food which assists in maintaining their overall health. $25 Microchipping Your donation will help cover some of the cost of mandatory microchipping which will also ensure animals are reunited with their families if lost. $40 Orphan Care Your donation goes toward providing bedding, formula and bottles for orphaned puppies and kittens in SAFE’s care. $50 Vaccination Your donation will help cover some of the cost of vaccinations which help to protect our animals from parasites and infectious diseases. $60 Flea, Worm & Tick Treatment Your donation will help cover some of the cost of SAFE animals feeling their best with a flea, worm and tick treatment. $75 Vet Care Your donation will help cover some of the cost of providing our animals with basic vet care including a physical exam, check for lumps and bumps, healthy teeth and gums, skin conditions, clear eyes and ears, joint movement, circulation, heart rate and respiration. $100 Flight Fund Your donation helps SAFE cover some of the cost of flying an adopted animal to their new home. $150 Desex a Pet Your donation will help cover some of the cost of desexing the animals in SAFE’s care, reducing the overpopulation of unwanted pets. $250 Special Care Some of the animals that come into SAFE’s care need more specialised attention, whether they have been involved in an accident, born with a congenital defect or have been abused, these cases often require an emergency operation or corrective procedure. The procedures are costly but are an essential part of our efforts in getting these animals healthy and ready to find their new homes. It soon all adds up for SAFE Inc, and that is why we are asking for your support this Christmas time. If you would like to support us however big or small please donate to:- SAFE Inc. Commonwealth Bank BSB 066-531 Account Number 10224505 Description - Xmas and your name If you would also like to receive a certificate of your donation please complete the online form (link in comments) and we will email through to you. 19.01.2022 HC1695 Fox Fantastic Mr Fox! Medium haired cutie Fox is now seeking expressions of interest to become a part of your family! This little guy has had a tad of a battle to get to where he is and he’s still a couple of weeks away before going to his dream home! Fox came in to care with siblings Grevis (adopted), Juno and Ernie. Fox had ringworm really bad out of all of his siblings.... he also had mites all over his eyelashes which irritated his eyes - after his first wash - th...e mites were gently removed and his eyes looked so much better!!! Fox was then microchipped & his body rejected the chip resulting in an abscess and the chip coming out - eewww! So a round of antibiotics also.... This is a lovely kitten looking for a home with lots of toys, love and attention to give. A feline buddy for company would be ideal or an adoption with one or both of his sisters - even better!!! Please email [email protected] if you’d like to meet our little white and grey Fox

She has so much love to give! Mable is a very clean little lady and is litter trained. Mable isn't confident around other cats and is very scared of dogs. 16.01.2022 TRANSFERRED TO CAT HAVEN HC1736 Marilyn Hello, Marilyn (Manson) is my name. No don't laugh. Someone apparently thought I was a girl ... I tried to live the wild life with sister Audrey and mum Janice, but the local Rescue group figured I needed to settle down and find a purpose in life. My fostermum has been telling me about all the treats and sunny spots to be had in my furever family. I have trust issues still, so will require a calm and patient human to help make this transition. I love my boxes, they are my safe place. Fostermum and I play a game where I hiss at her every morning, like I am a mean street cat still. She isn't fooled though. She just smiles and brings me food, scratches under my chin and then gives me the best back scratches. All while I purr and get I get all drooly. I like to be scratched before I eat my food. If you’d like to know more about me; please contact Mick at [email protected] Lots of Love and purrs Marilyn M.

15.01.2022 HC1775 Arya The 11th December downpour brought in 3 newborn bubs - rushed in by a caring public member - they were now safe, dry and warm. Meet bub 1; Arya. A sweet 5 week old female - medium haired kitten. Very quiet, curious, brave - she is not afraid to jump up and sit beside you and have a sniff and lick. Hand reared from a week old - this little bub has thrived. Excuse the messy face - I’m learning to eat - plus I have a ringworm lesion on this one side of my mouth - I...’m washed regularly and treatment is going well. Arya hopes to be all cleared of ringworm and be ready for adoption and her new home at 8 weeks of age. Arya is now ready for meets and greets and cuddles!!! Please email [email protected] for more information on Arya

14.01.2022 ADOPTED HC1654 Toshi Toshi came into care with mumma Kiki and sisters Effie and Dita. Kiki (profile below) was a stray who gave birth to the girls in a shed - the residents of the shed collected Kiki and brought her and the girls to SAFE. ... Kiki raised her girls and a couple of orphans - and the girls are now big enough to bid mumma farewell and find families of their own. The girls are in foster care together and at the end of their ringworm treatment and will only go to their new homes once they’ve received clearances from the vets. They are in care with older resident cats and older children. Toshi is spoilt, loves to sleep in your arms and is very much a smoocher and would suit a home with older children and a home with a friendly feline to spend her days playing with. Discounts apply for adoption of 2 kittens or more. If you’d like to meet Toshi; please email [email protected]
13.01.2022 HC1637 Mighty Mighty is HC1638 Sonny’s non-biological litter mate and shared his siblings for company. They are the very last 2 kittens left of their litter. Mighty is 12 weeks of age and in care with 2 older resident cats. Mighty's favourite is Big Boy; who loves all foster kitties and begs him mum to let him keep them all. Mighty is no exception. ... Mighty was a teeny tiny grey and white baby - like a teeny mouse - hence his name! He has since had a major growth spurt and is no longer so itty bitty. Mighty has a fascination for socks and will steal them from the laundry pile or drawers - and even if they are on your feet - he will try and get them. He is currently banned from the toilet as he regularly enjoys shredding the toilet rolls and dragging them all over the house - so the bathroom is now off limits to him. Ideally Mighty would go to a home where he has a feline buddy for company as he adores his big kitty foster brother - and a home where he will get plenty of attention. He would not like a home where he is left alone for long periods of time. Please email [email protected] to arrange a meet and greet or find out more about Mighty

Sonny is in foster care with dogs, children and older resident felines. He loves company and a home with friendly established pets and/or children would be favourable. ... Please contact [email protected] to arrange a meet and greet or find out more about Sonny

These guys are the biological bubs of Kiki. Kiki was found in a shed and she had given birth to 3 girls. Kiki also took on 3 orphans - someone had ringworm and kindly shared it with the entire litter and mum!!! The ringworm was really bad and most kittens had missing fur and cracked skin. With continuous treatment and bathi...ng - all kittens have made brilliant recoveries and are looking beautiful. Effie and Dita are ready for their meets and greets - Please email [email protected] if you’d like to meet either/both girls

Please email [email protected] if you would like to arrange a meet and greet with Bali
11.01.2022 HC1651 Kiki How big is your heart ? Kiki is looking for someone to call her own but you need to have love and patience in abundance. ... Kiki has not had an easy start to life and survival on the streets of Hedland as a young cat with a litter of kittens is the stuff of nightmares. When she first came into care with her babies she was not a fan of humans and who would blame her! But since then she has lovingly raised her babies and literally been the lifesaver for other orphaned kittens. She was a super mum. Now it's Kiki's turn. She so desperately wants to trust humans and she is slowly getting there, she is more timid than cross, she likes to smooch and talk to you but is still unsure what to do when you respond. She's been desexed and is recovering from the ringworm shared from one of her orphaned babies so is now ready for her own family. When she lets her personality out she is playful and quirky and if you have a robot vacuum all the better, it is her obsession, she follows it around and supervises, it's pretty funny. Kiki is a work in progress, if you have love and patience to give her the space to grow into a beautiful, hilarious companion, please give this one year old lady a second chance, she really deserves it. If you’d like to arrange a meet and greet with Kiki please email [email protected]

Kentucky will come vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and de-sexed for an adoption fee of $500. For more information please email [email protected]

A short haired, slinky tuxedo boy - he is in foster care with an adult cat (teach him some manners) and 2 junior carers. Ranger LOVES kids. His junior carers are a toddler and one year older and he just adores the toddler and rubs up against him. Ranger is hesitant of strangers at first and will take a few days to warm up to you - as he hid under the lounge of his Foster carer, for the first 24 hours before being brave enough to venture out. If Ranger may be of interest - he is ready for meets and greets. Please email [email protected]
06.01.2022 HC1618 Neo Little Neo turns 8 weeks at the end of the week so will be ready for adoption shortly. This little guy has been handreared with sister Seba. They also came into care with sister Santana; but she sadly passed away at 4 weeks of age. Neo and Seba have thrived very well under the care of an experienced hand rear carer. Neo has a unique colouring - a black head and grey mottled body. He can beg, tap you on the foot to be picked up and loves his carer to bits. He can b...e bossy and needy! Hand rears make the most wonderful companions as they are used to being handled regularly and have the attention of humans. 02.01.2022 HC1736 Marilyn Hello, Marilyn (Manson) is my name. No don't laugh. Someone apparently thought I was a girl I tried to live the wild life with sister Audrey and mum Janice, but the local Rescue group figured I needed to settle down and find a purpose in life. My fostermum has been telling me about all the treats and sunny spots to be had in my furever family. ...
