19.01.2022 IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE AND REMINDER From Wednesday, licensed venues will be required to record contact details of patrons electronically (e.g. QR code, m...ember card scanning). Paper records will not suffice. We are still working to clarify this new requirement and will provide further guidance, including electronic options to you shortly. This is not a time to become complacent in your mandatory business COVID Safe practices. OLGR officers will be undertaking a compliance blitz throughout the state, inspecting licensed venues to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the Public Health Act 2005. Focus will be on (but not limited to): Patron contact registers Practices that encourage physical distancing High standard of hygiene practices Read more: http://ow.ly/Iz0a50CQEoW

13.01.2022 Zonta Whitsundays donated 50 Safety Blankets to the Rest and Recovery Team in Airlie Beach Safe Night Precinct last night. The team no longer have to use their ...own jackets to cover patients for their privacy prior to the 000 services arriving. Rest and Recovery program manager Dee Fraser was grateful to Zonta for providing this much needed item. It will assist them in helping the well being of young ladies and women of all ages. Providing safety and protecting their modesty from passers by or people with phones taking pictures. Next time you are out in Airlie Beach say hello to the team and grab some water. They are there every weekend usually from 10pm to 3am opposite Beaches. They also work extra times during schoolies, public holidays and festivals. As this is Sexual Violence Protection Month, the Rest and Recovery team also provide a safe place to go if you need help. They have security and direct access to Police and Ambulance services. A fantastic service for our community providing a safe place for people to party, enjoy our streets and feel safe. For more information check out their facebook page. 05.01.2022 Remember if you’re going out there are new regulations limiting numbers in venues. Please be patient if you have to wait to get in. Stay safe - stay home if you’re sick, keep your distance from others and wash your hands regularly. We can do this Airlie!
05.01.2022 Imagine going to a venue that had a confirmed case of COVID-19, but not knowing about it because you didn't sign in correctly. This not only puts your health at... risk, but also the health of your family and the greater community. We're all in this together, so next time you're dining out at a restaurant or venue, do the right thing: Fill out the correct contact details, so that contact tracers can get in contact with you easily, in the event of a COVID-19 case. Make sure your friends sign in too (every person in your group, not just you). If you don't see anywhere to sign in, ask someone! Please note: All venues now have to digitalise their forms due to false and illegible details being given at some venues.
