25.01.2022 On Tuesday night Ian Luff appeared on the Jones & Credlin show, Sky News, to talk about road safety. Alan has long been a great supporter of our work and he asked Ian to speak about mobile phone issues and other road safety topics. Peta was also extremely knowledgable and showed her deep understanding of the driver training benefits that can be attained. If you missed it, here is a rough version for you to recap (sorry about the quality). We would like to thank Sky News and of course Alan Jones and Peta Credlin for their support. Let us know what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tizaKRxaWFU

25.01.2022 So, who thinks they are a good driver? And why? (Not a trick question)

25.01.2022 Look at this vision and tell me that driver training wouldnt help you. This driver did exceptionally well to avoid a catastrophic outcome. But how would you have handled this situation? Wait for it!!

24.01.2022 We predicted this 2 years ago, next will be a complete loss of licence. But be warned the penalties in QLD are now very expensive. But still cheaper than being dead or killing someone. Do you think people are getting the message about mobile phone use and driving? Will this make any difference do you think?

22.01.2022 We love feedback from our caring parents about our delivery of the Safer Drivers Course. We pride ourselves on passion, dedication and quality in all our education programs.

22.01.2022 Watch this video, WATCH IT, dont scroll on! This is the ramifications of poor decisions, so many people impacted by one stupid choice. If you feel you can take your role as a driver for granted, think again. Just horrific, we feel for these families.

21.01.2022 What could you do with $2384.00? Anyone want to guess why this amount is significant?

21.01.2022 Some people are not getting the message, do not enter flooded roadways. This can be tragic and very costly at the least. Please share this post, the last thing the emergency services needs right now is to rescue you from a flooded road.

21.01.2022 Hang Up and Drive! The new mobile phone cameras in NSW look down at the drivers lap because people are going to extreme lengths to hide the fact that they are committing an offence. They know its wrong but are doing it anyway. Since distraction emerged as a cause of road crashes, States have steadily increasing penalties. In NSW, the offence carries five demerit points but the $344 fine ($457 in a school zone) seems mild compared to other traffic offences. For example, exc...eeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h is $481. The approach in Queensland has been to increase fines to $1000 and four demerit points. Why should we believe that this inconsistent approach to fines and demerit points will work? The threat from mobile phone use while driving is the same throughout Australia so why arent the penalties? Federally, where is the recently established Office of Road Safety on this issue? The dangers of distraction are well documented through crashes that have killed and injured people. Using a mobile phone behind the wheel is a choice. You can decide not to use your phone. Making better choices as a driver or rider or pedestrian comes down to knowledge and education. That is why driver education is so important and should be included in the discussions at the NSW #TowardsZero Summit this month. #MakeItHappen

21.01.2022 Today our team is delivering our In-School driver education program to Liverpool Boys High. Proudly supported by the M5 Motorway and Peter Warren Suzuki. @ Liverpool Boys High School

19.01.2022 With recent events highlighting the tragedy of poor choices by drivers. We want to point out a few facts, our blood alcohol limit for a fully licensed driver is UNDER 0.05, at this level you are twice as likely to crash as before. At 0.08 you are 5 times more likely to crash as before. At 0.10 you are 10 times more likely to crash than at zero. P platers/L platers are required to have ZERO alcohol recorded in their blood. Yes, there is an elevated risk of drinking and drivin...g, but making the alcohol level at zero is not going to stop people who are excessively abusing their privileges and recording between 0.08 and above. The levels being recorded that we have seen lately is just unacceptable, the outcomes of this we have seen come to bare. Not only is there a very big risk of losing life, but it is also the lives of innocent parties, not related to the drinking driver that is the most unbearable. Especially when those lives are of children. Ask yourself is this outcome worth it? Can I live with my actions, decisions, and choices? We have heard so many reasons why people dont feel they need a defensive driving course, Im a good driver, I never have an accident, Im safe, I did one of those years ago, you name it we have heard it. But we want you to ask yourself this. What happens if you need to avoid a drunk driver, a drug-affected driver or someone that is distracted? When was the last time you practiced proper defensive driving principles? If you are comfortable with your own response, carry on and good luck. But otherwise, get yourself to our program, this is not ambulance-chasing, we dont get rich teaching these programs, we do it because we believe that what we do saves lives on our roads. Our clients testaments reaffirm this too. The last thing we want is to hear of a tragedy that we know may have been avoided by doing our program. Jump on our website, take a look, book in, but dont put it off any longer, life is too short. Hug your families every day as well, you never know if you will see them again or not. www.drivetosurvive.com

17.01.2022 Excuse the language in some of these clips, but you have to ask yourself what were these motorists thinking? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6lFC8YS2EAs

16.01.2022 Do you have a small team and want to give them quality WHS friendly driver education, reduce your running costs and lower driving-related incidents? We now have an affordable driver safety workshop option for companies with smaller teams, so instead of needing 20 staff to book into one of these programs, you can send as few as one for just $145. Our next scheduled workshop is the 2nd of April. You can simply book online, no mucking around. Now there is literally no excuse for your team not being WHS compliant when it comes to driving. https://www.drivetosurvive.com/affordable-driver-safety-pro

16.01.2022 Be aware Double Demerits start from this Friday!

14.01.2022 You have been warned, mobile phone cameras today go officially live. How would you cope with losing 5 points? And a packet load cash!

12.01.2022 Great work by the NSW Hwy Patrol, this was a serious issue, loaded wrong and thats just the start. Be grateful they took this one off the road!

12.01.2022 Yesterday our team had the absolute privilege to deliver our in-school driver education program to the year, 11 students, at Clancy Catholic College West Hoxton. The students were engaging, polite and very respectful to all of our presenters including our ambassador and brain injury sufferer Jarrad Ingram. We are grateful for the opportunities to reach these schools and we could not do this without our support partners. Please support them if you can, as they do their best to support us and our mission to reduce the road toll. https://www.drivetosurvive.com/support-partners

11.01.2022 One of our team members just spotted this on a vehicle parked. This type of sidewall damage is very dangerous and could lead to a rapid tyre failure. A visual inspection clearly would see this, why on earth would you take this risk with your vehicle? People are reacting to the risk of a virus yet clearly take risks like this every day! All this is covered in our programs and if you havent booked in what other risks are you unaware of?

09.01.2022 Well done to the NSW Hwy Patrol for using this as a learning experience for this driver. You not only saved them some money, but you could also have saved their life.

09.01.2022 Will the Towards Zero summit announced on the weekend go far enough to help reduce the number of lives lost on NSW roads? It appears from media reports the proposed Towards Zero Summit will be an encore presentation of last weeks Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Stockholm including many of the same cast. Why have driver educators, such as ourselves, apparently been excluded from the forthcoming summit? Unless discussions at that summit take in education for al...Continue reading

09.01.2022 Check out our latest blog regarding workplace health and safety, if you have any workers that drive as part of their job, you need to read this. Please share it with anyone you know who is a manager, supervisor or director, as they could be held liable under the legislation. https://www.ianluff.com.au/funerals-arent-motivational-eve/

06.01.2022 Ok, Luffy gave his honest assessment of this incident on the Ben Fordham show today. Have a look and let us know if you agree with him.

05.01.2022 It was great seeing so many P plate drivers out today extending their knowledge of safe driving at our defensive driving course. Some teamed up in the same car while one mother and son completed the course together. Surprising results in our emergency simulation exercise with the focus on safer outcomes always. If you or your family havent completed this course then what are you waiting for? We can Make it Happen!

05.01.2022 Look what the consequences of running a red light can be... Please pay attention!

05.01.2022 Just a warning, with so much rain about recently, some very large potholes have opened up. If you have done our course you will know exactly what to do to avoid these, otherwise good luck with that! On a serious note though, potholes can do a lot of damage to your vehicle, damage your tyres, wheels, or even the suspension. Remember adapting to the Environment is a key element to the Drive to Survive program where we give you solutions to everyday problems that can cost you m...oney or your safety. If you havent done the program yet, or its been a while what are you waiting for, a crash to prompt you into action? Wouldnt it be better to not crash in the first place? If you amortise the cost of doing the defensive driving course out over time and how much this program will save you, it is such an insignificant spend, you really have no reason not too do it. Stay safe...

05.01.2022 Just an update for all Drive to Survive courses, we are still operating as normal. There is no intention to stop delivering our vital road safety training. Our training room is only used by our team, it is regularly cleaned.

04.01.2022 This is why you MUST always check the intersection before entering any intersection! Even if you have the green light!

03.01.2022 Heads up facebookers, most school students will return to school tomorrow. Expect more traffic on the roads, give yourself more time. Also, be on the lookout for excited kids and grateful parents. Keep your cool and try not to get flustered with delays. There will be a lot of chaos and with that comes mistakes. Lets also not forget about school zoned speed limits, we need to slow down around schools for obvious reasons. Please share this message out there with your family and friends and help them Drive to Survive.

02.01.2022 Please dont impede or restrict or park in a disabled zone if you arent eligible to park there. Its hard enough to live with a disability, let alone have to deal with parking issues.
