19.01.2022 SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA | 180 George St Designed by one of the world’s leading architecture firms Foster + Partners, and created by Lendlease, 180 George St will become a centrepiece of a new precinct at Circular Quay. The Men from Marrs (Marr Contracting) are providing the cranes and associated equipment for Lendlease, on this prestigious project. As part of their package, they were required to provide 2 x access bridges, to enable the crane operators to safely access the crane ma...st from the adjoining building slab. These bridges had to be able to be quickly lifted into position and safely secured to the crane mast cross member. The Men from Marrs (Marr Contracting) approached SafeSmart Access, as the original developer of crane access bridges. Using our unique SmartSpan system, SafeSmart supplied 1 x 3mL bridge and 1 x 10mL bridge for the project. 14.01.2022 AUSTRALIA | CUSTOM PRODUCT - Kangy Angy Situated in Kangy Angy, is the new intercity fleet maintenance facility now operated by United Group Limited. John Holland, the contractor responsible for the design and construction of the facility, required driver access platforms for safe access to the trains when moving them in and out of the maintenance roads. SafeSmart adapted the proprietary SafeLoader platform and developed a 2mH x 1.2mW x 3.5mL version with key features like 45... degree stair access, self-closing gates, perforated deck for superior grip, reversible guardrails for flexibility and large castors for manoeuvrability. 14.01.2022 The Power of Proscaf | Sydney, Australia A private school based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs required an engineered structure to facilitate the safe passage of students up and over an internal site road, whilst construction works were in progress. Rohrig Constructions, the principal contractor on site, contacted SafeSmart Access to coordinate the design and delivery of a suitable solution.... SafeSmart, in conjunction with delivery partner Just tube scaffolding, Rohrig, and the School, prepared a design for public access stairs in conjunction with a 12mL span, 4.5m high bridge. Using Proscaf as the core of the design, the public-compliant stairs and bridge were 2.0mW with a special duty rating of 5kPa. This structure was designed to Australian Standards and the stringent requirements for public access. Additionally, the stairs and bridge had two requirements: 1. To be in position for a long period of time (potentially 2+ yrs) 2. To be clad with a suitably aesthetic and weather-proof lining to fit the specifications of the school.
