25.01.2022 Cheer-Dance Spectacular DVDs have finally arrived!!!! Year 11 & 12s please collect from the front office. All Cheer-Dance students will receive their DVD in class today! Any general dance student can collect at recess or lunch from the performing arts office.

22.01.2022 Today we held the last CHD Leadership Team meeting for Term 3 and farewelled our Yr 12 Student Leader Emily. She has been a fantastic role model for our younger leaders. Always leading by example, she is a kind approachable person and her ability to help with any concerns never ceased to amaze. Thank you so much for your contribution to the Cheer-Dance Specialist Program and all the best for the future

22.01.2022 Congratulations to all our Cheer & Dance winners at the In School Competition on Friday! You are performing tomorrow at Arts Royale. Please arrive at school in full hair, costume and make up by 5:30pm. Leadership helpers can you please arrive by 5pm. Performances are in the amphitheatre: 6pm Cheer and 6:30pm Dance. Cheer & Dance may leave as soon as they have performed. Leadership helpers will finish at 8-8:30pm. We look forward to seeing you at our FREE community Arts event!

20.01.2022 Tomorrow in all CHD classes we will be celebrating student success, having secret Santa and playing team building games. Don’t forget to bring in a small plate of food to share which you can drop off to the theatre kitchen in the morning. To celebrate the festive season we encourage everyone to bring something ‘Christmassy’ and to dress up in class. This can be a complete Christmas outfit, pjs or even just some tinsel or a reindeer headband

11.01.2022 In School Competition tomorrow - Students to arrive in the Theatre by 5pm in full hair, cheerleading costume and make up. Students will not have time to get ready prior to the event or access to change rooms. Group warm up and stunt practice will begin at 5:05pm. Any additional pre-orders for food from the canteen for interval can be placed prior to the start of the show. Doors open at 5:45pm for spectators and the competition will begin at 6pm sharp. 11.01.2022 Cheer-Dance Spectacular Rehearsal Tomorrow: Please arrive in full school uniform (no jewellery) and be in the Theatre by 8am. Make sure you bring lunch, healthy snacks and 2 bottles of water. Collect your costume bag off the rack and double/ triple check that all your costumes and accessories are in there. We will then travel to Mandurah Performing Arts Centre and rehearse until 2pm returning to school at approximately 2:40pm.

We were so proud of all teams who showed a huge improvement in their choreography and performance over the last 6 weeks in class. After what has been a very different year I am so grateful we were able to showcase your talents to your parents and friends. Each and every one of you should be proud of what you put on stage tonight and I am so happy we were able to have a lovely send off for our year 12s who have given so much to the program Thank you to both our specialists Rachel & Ashley for all your hard work this year. It is a ple...asure having you work with our students. I can’t finish tonight without thanking the most important person of all... Miss Holton! I don’t know what I would do without you. Each year you make it bigger and better setting the bar higher for what is always a professional showcase. As the CHD Program Coordinator you are so passionate about everything you do and this shows through how hard the students work for you on stage and the respect the show you. Your enthusiasm, motivation, professionalism and organisation are second to none. I am so grateful to be working by your side Finally thank you to Shakyra, Janelle & Ashlea. Each year you don’t hesitate to help out even after a big week of other school meetings and performances. I am so lucky to be working with such wonderful people. 06.01.2022 Cheer-Dance Spectacular Evening Wow... what a fantastic day of rehearsals! We are so excited for our show this evening. Now is the time to go home, rest, eat a healthy dinner and do your hair and makeup. Please ensure all students are back at Mandurah Performing Arts Center at 6pm backstage with no jewellery, plenty of water and a few snacks. Students can wear anything as long as it covers the 3 B’s. They will then put on their 1st costume and all CHEER will warm up & run a full. Students are not allowed out at interval and at no stage are parents or friends allowed back stage for their safety. At the conclusion of the show students will remain backstage briefly to clean their area and pack the truck. Please wait for your child in the theatre foyer and they will be out at approximately 9:30pm Thank you for your assistance

05.01.2022 The compass incursion for the 'In School Competition' next Friday has been emailed to parents/ guardians. Please ensure you click/ reply that your child can attend by this Friday! Any issues with compass please contact administration and they will assist you :)

04.01.2022 Next week excursion permission for the in school competition will be sent out via compass. Please click on the link ASAP to assist us with coordinating the event! Next Friday at 4pm, tickets will be on sale for the competition. We have reduced the cost for spectators this year to hopefully assist all parents in being able to attend to see their child perform. Please be aware that tickets are limited due to COVID restrictions and must be purchased online. Flat seating $5 + bo...oking fee and Tiered seating $10 + booking fee. Competitors will not need a ticket. We will post a link for this next Friday :) Dance groups will now be sorting out their costumes for the competitions. Students are not to spend more than $20 and we highly recommend using items they already own at home! Cheer groups will wear their competition uniforms and will not need to purchase anything. At the in school competition on Friday 20th November, the canteen will be open from 5pm with dinner foods, finger foods and drinks that you can take into the gym. There will also be a coffee van for those that need it. Please support our canteen and the coffee van so we can continue to have them providing catering for our events. (It also means you don't need to cook when you get home!!) Pre-order forms for food will go home next week to make pick up even quicker! You can pre-order for yourself and your child. Thank you for your support of our program :)

02.01.2022 Reward Excursion Info for Tomorrow: Please arrive at 7:50am outside the theatre. You will need to wear bathers under a shirt that covers your shoulders & tummy with shorts and thongs. Please bring a hat, towel, sunscreen, snacks and plenty of water. Lunch is provided at the venue. Girls: Your bathers must adequately cover your body otherwise shorts & shirt will need to be worn at the venue. ... Relevant staff have their surf rescue and first aid as well as venue life guards. Please be aware that valuables are brought at your own risk and the bus will leave at 8am sharp. We cannot wait for latecomers. The bus will return to school at approximately 3pm

02.01.2022 This afternoon we hosted our 2021 Yr 7 CHD students for the ‘Youth Workshop’ where they were able to meet other students in the program before next year. We all had so much fun completing minute to win it games and hope this makes your transition into high school so much easier.
