18.01.2022 Grey day...but you get the picture. Spotted discarded in an Upper Hunter mine site carpark were this pair of safety glasses. That's the fate of many - and it can be a costly thing for the employer. But it need not be that way. Simple maths can be used to show that one pair of prescription safety glasses outlasts lots and lots of disposables and that means money saved.... See S.E.E. and save! Makes sense! See more

18.01.2022 So there I was tootling along between appointments this afternoon when I came across this wide load on the Golden Highway. Thought I'd outsmart traffic and detour through Singleton, avoiding the delay. Long story short...encountered the same wide load (this time headed in the opposite direction) just outside of Singleton. Reckon my calculated trickery cost me around 15 minutes of travel time. Not my worst travel story for the week..don't get me started on how I was headed for Botany and ended up in Kings Cross!...ahh...the joys of a mobile business.

17.01.2022 How many numbers can you see...now have another look and count again. What we see at first glance is often not all there is to see!

16.01.2022 Arranged to meet a coal mining customer today in the crib room of a Hunter Valley mine. Got there a little early and this is what I found...the crumpled remains of numerous bikkie packs on each table in the room. Clearly this was Tim Tam Tuesday! Left me wondering what the theme will be for Wednesday...maybe waffles???

16.01.2022 Just because winter's around the corner doesn't mean you can forget about protecting your eyes. More and more of our customers are opting for transitions lenses...they're the ones that darken to sunnies when the sunshine is bright and go clear when you go indoors. With 100 per cent UV protection, they're a sensible option. Want to know more...give us a call.

15.01.2022 Children as young as 3 years old are now using iPads, iPods, X-Boxes and computers so much these days that by the time they reach either their teens or their early 20s, they find themselves having to wear glasses all the time. While it used to be the norm for a 40+ year old to get their first pair of reading glasses, now it's the norm for a 20 year old. We as parents must protect our children's eyes. They only get one pair.

14.01.2022 Prescription safety glasses come in a range of designs and sizes. Originally the only choice a worker had was a metal frame. Today plastic frames are favoured because they look more fashionable and several offer a range of colour choices. And, for those who doubt that glasses have progressed all that much over the years, take a look at this very early example of a metal frame. We can't supply something like this but, realistically, we do have something for just about anyone.

07.01.2022 Reflective vests are an important item of Personal Protective Equipment on many worksites. We wear them ourselves when required. The other day in traffic I spotted this rather creative use of a vest. Genuis or what?

07.01.2022 Had a fantastic chat with the guys at Goodlooking Optics in England live on snapchat today. They were talking about social media and your business. Was great fun, great advice and great people.

06.01.2022 What we see is intrepreted by our brain and that means the way we see something and our reaction to it can be altered in ways beyond our thoughts or control. The following is a prime example of that line of thinking. For mine, it reinforces the importance of protecting our eyes to ensure that the clearest and most accurate picture possible is the one getting through to the brain.

01.01.2022 What could possibly go wrong?
