06.01.2022 NAV Cup 2021 Q&A Session 2 We are back today with ESB Stars Captain Aashish GC. It will be his debut tournament as captain. He will give his insights on the upcoming tournament. So Lets begin........ ... Q1. This NAV Cup is your captency debut? How much challenging is it for you. What are your plans? A: Keeping things as simple as possible is the main plan. I will try to focus on each and every player's on thier weakness and strength and work on those aspects. And hopefully will lift the Cup this year. Q2. You have a dynamic squad setup. What was your mindset for the squad selection process? A: Mind set is really clear. Going for the cup is an obvious thing for any team captains and for that I tried to make sure that all the criteria were met and i tried to make on a team that can contribute to the team by fielding and plus at least one thing either bowling or batting. I tried to create a balance between all the players. Hopefully it gonna work in the field. Q3. What suggestions would you like to give to the squad ahead of the tournament? A: To all the players i will suggest not to take any pressure whatsoever and play thier own natural games and i will make sure about that. And yeah lastly follow the covid rules strictly as possible as it is for the wellness of community. Q4. There has been a lot of changes within the club and the team? How is the team's atmosphere? A: Atmosphere is really good. Everybody is getting along as we have some new faces as well. All the players are eager to play after a long break. Q5. How has this pandemic impacted the club and the players? A: After covid happened, lots of tournaments were cancelled which were preplanned. Club went through some tough times as well. We were not able to play grade games this year as lots of players were highly impacted including me as well. There was no savings as all in our pockets. We were not allowed to play in nets as well. But things are going good nowadays thats a nice thing. Hope fully we will continue playing cricket now onwards.
