24.01.2022 COVID-19 - No Shutdown of the Building & Construction Industry Please be advised that there was NO shutdown of the building and construction industry announced following the meeting of the National Cabinet on Covid-19 (which comprises the PM, State Premiers and Territory Chief Ministers) on 22 March 2020. The Prime Minister last week included building and construction sites as an Essential Service and there has been no change to this status.... Essentially this means we will continue to work on our current projects, with all of the safety precautions taken into hand that have been recommended by our authorities. We've spoken to our major suppliers and so far don't see any major shortages of materials in the short-term. On a personal note...I remain unsure. I see this like most others as the biggest health risk to impact a generation. I won't be angry should any of my guys ask not to work or indeed any of my guys ask not to work in specific situations such as inside people homes during renovations. This is both a community and private fight and I want my guys who I see as family to be comfortable in their own responses to the crisis. I've read so much in an effort to stay informed...and it seems the major key for our own personal health is fever. If anyone feels unwell and displays a fever greater than 38 degrees for an extended period of time then please take immediate action. I wish everyone the best in their efforts to isolate, social distance and stay clear of the virus and hope that the community as a whole responds once safe to our local industries that are working hard to keep employees paid and businesses running. 23.01.2022 How cool is this

22.01.2022 Whilst I'm away enjoying my honeymoon this week in Phuket....I am witnessing the very reason that people fall in love with the Thai style of architecture. Our hotel is spectacular in its brutal architecture which is softened against the tropical gardens. I know my lads will be working feverishly this week....thank you guys. Pics to follow....but I'm also glad for Tech Safe and Australian Standards laws.

18.01.2022 If you ever need your old or new timber floor sanded and resurfaced....call Jacob at Transformation Floors for the highest quality finish.

17.01.2022 This was a great project to work on....and we are proud with the result. A collaboration of build team and the building designer John Weston. I hope you enjoy the pics as much as we enjoyed the process....

17.01.2022 Super proud moment today as the concrete goes in on our most challenging job to date. A little rain, hail and sleet but his spectacular view is being tamed with a suspended slab 4m off the ground.

15.01.2022 An update on the excavations of our latest new build....well in a word....ROCK :) Its a beautiful yet challenging site. Great views of the mountain, super close to the city...but the road you can see in one image is about 60m below the site and about the same distance away laterally.

15.01.2022 Just a few pics from the backyard of our exciting Bellerive build....I am totally besotted with Spotted Gum.

15.01.2022 Looking at some exciting and new innovations for our construction industry.

13.01.2022 Let the digging begin on our newest project. A highly efficient home on a steep site in South Hobart....we cant wait to sink our teeth into this wonderful challenge.

11.01.2022 We pay A LOT of attention to condensation control in our homes. As were now sealing up your home to keep the much needed heat inside, condensation build up has become one of the greatest challenges to our industry. Dont settle for a builder that doesnt discuss measures to reduce condensation and mould. We use and trust Bradford breathable membranes....if youve got any questions, send us a message or contact the guys at CSR Bradford.

10.01.2022 Condensation and Airtight Building seminar is informative....and fortunately, it looks like we are ahead of the game with our practices and techniques to reduce condensation and mould in our homes.

09.01.2022 As we start another new home in a magical setting....albeit a slightly delayed start....I have to remember how lucky I am to be building beautiful homes in such an amazing place.

07.01.2022 Its great when the homeowner loves their house so much that they send through pics of their favourite areas.

05.01.2022 An update on the excavations of our latest new build....well in a word....ROCK :) It's a beautiful yet challenging site. Great views of the mountain, super close to the city...but the road you can see in one image is about 60m below the site and about the same distance away laterally.

05.01.2022 A huge thank you to all everyone who stopped and said hi at Homefest over the weekend. We had a great response....it was wonderful to share my passion for building with you all. I hope many of you have liked the page and can share in the next wave of exciting new projects we are about to begin.......

05.01.2022 Our newest project rising from the old weatherboard bones in Bellerive. The project has been designed by John from JWA Design for a very hardworking couple Cassie & John and their adorable little girl....so it encompasses all the family living inclusions youd expect and some adult features to suit the homeowners theatrical personalities. The build will be energy efficient and light, as well as take in the wonderful views of the Derwent River and Mount Wellington. We are planning on some sexy cladding on this house so it sits nicely in its urban setting but can also transform with the addition of lighting after dark. I look forward to sharing more pics as this exciting new Sage Homes build unfolds.

05.01.2022 This is our current project....and what a view!! Its a renovation extension (almost knock down rebuild) designed by John Weston that will have plenty of street appeal and best serve the personalities of its owners Stephen & Annette. Im looking forward to sharing some of the unique features and the progress with you all.

05.01.2022 We were asked to fix an out of level floor in a house right on Kingston Beach. Problem was....the second storey was built on two conjoined 20s beach shacks that had the walls framed straight onto the sand. So....I suggested to our slightly scared client that the best option was to knock down and rebuild, but they were keen to keep the house. The decision was made to pull out most of the house and remove the asbestos....and then pour a brand new polished slab to hold up wh...at was left of the house for decades to come and start afresh!! My guys who worked on this deserve a huge pat on the back. Demo was dirty and tricky....and plenty of sleepless nights came as strong wind and rain swept the house site. Well....the slab is in, and its time to start putting back what we took away and deliver a modern/contemporary/industrial home. See more

04.01.2022 Its great to start one of our most challenging builds yet. This house has spectacular views and will bost some sexy features as well as structural beauty. Im looking forward to sharing this one with you all as we work through the layers of this incredible build with our team and amazing clients.

04.01.2022 Late last year we started demolition on a small weatherboard house in preparation for a second storey and "almost" rebuild. Well after three months the scaffold is down and I proudly share the project with you all. The team have done an amazing job so far...with many challenges along the way. Im looking forward to the interior fitout and being able to deliver a sensational new family home, to a sensational family.

03.01.2022 Some nice welding here from Brandon on the webbed columns.....good to see the cantilevered steel for the deck going up too. Nice work guys

01.01.2022 My clients have been in their house for 4 months now and have received their first power bill. The 3 month total usage for their 220sqm home in June, July and August was $675. By comparison the bills for the same period in their past home which was a rented 130sqm 1960s home was $1995. Their home prior to that was custom built in early 2000s and the same period cost $2565 for electricity. Im so happy with the processes we followed and effort placed on reducing energy costs... whilst maintaining a comfortable 18 degree minimum in the house for such a wonderful family. Proof that energy efficiency doesnt have to cost the earth or compromise design. See more
