22.01.2022 Have you accessed the early release of super scheme? By withdrawing part of your super early, you dont just lose the amount youve withdrawn from your retirement savings, you also lose the opportunity to earn an investment return (or make additional money) on that money. The good news is theres plenty you can do to help make sure you can still enjoy the kind of retirement youve always dreamed of. There are a number of ways you can make super contributions in addition to those your employer makes on your behalf. These include: Concessional (before-tax) contributions Non-concessional (after-tax) contributions Spouse contributions Government assistance Speak to our Retirement Specialists on 08 9445 2955 or visit www.sageretirement.com.au and find out how you can rebuild your super after a COVID-19 withdrawal.

21.01.2022 Waiting until you have money before you work with a retirement planner, is like waiting 'til you're smart enough before you go to school. Too many people think financial planners and retirement specialists are for the wealthy, but this simply is not true. There is no minimum amount you need to have in your retirement fund. In fact, if you're at all worried about how long your money is set to last in retirement, seeking advice from experts is strongly recommended. According t...o the Global Retirement Reality Report, "Australians of all ages accept personal responsibility for ensuring their income in retirement is adequate. This is despite the endless array of helpful hands'. Going it alone is not necessary. We can help build, grow and manage your wealth so you will have a steady income at retirement. Book in for a consultation today to see how we can help you. Click here > www.saferetirement.com.au or call us on 08 9445 2955.
21.01.2022 The results from the National Seniors Australia survey are in! It shows that Advisers are the number one source of information on wealth creation and financial management. It also shows that 59% rely on Advisers to help them achieve their retirement goals. This is not surprising. With life expectancy increasing, you could expect to live out 30 plus years in retirement. An autopilot DIY retirement strategy will not sustain you for that length of time.... Retirement planning is different from other aspects of financial planning and that is why here at Sage, it is our number one focus. More than facts and figures, the emotional complexities surrounding retirement can be difficult to manage. Retiree goals are also different, and there is a bigger focus on regular, steady income and asset protection. We have over 30 years of experience building, growing and managing wealth for retirees. Our specialists will help you navigate the emotional rollercoaster that retirement brings, manage key challenges for retirees and create sound income strategies. 11.01.2022 Financial Advisers have had some pretty bad press as of late. You put your faith and trust in the hands of financial experts and many of you have felt let down. However, we want to reassure you that much has been done to gain your trust, and ALL Licenced Financial Advisers MUST follow the FASEA Code of Ethics. The code comprises 5 values and 12 standards. The aim is to go above and beyond the requirements of the law to instil higher conduct of behaviour and professionalism in... our industry. This code informs everything we do and centres on working in the best interests of our clients. For us, this is nothing new. There is nothing written in the code of ethics that we havent practised as standard. In fact, it is working to higher moral values that have kept us successful in business for over 30 years. We aim to be the benchmark in retirement planning and that comes from putting our clients first. We are not about confusing jargon, commissions and high fees. 03.01.2022 Did you know The Australian Taxation Office has rolled out a new working from home tax claim shortcut on 1st March until EOFY 30th June? This new arrangement aims to make it easier for people working from home as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, to claim a rate of 80 cents per hour for ALL their running expenses, instead of calculating costs for specific running expenses as taxpayers would under normal circumstances. Multiple people living in the same house can cl...aim this new rate individually, and you do not need to have a dedicated work from home area in order to claim. Additionally, you will only need to keep a record of the number of hours worked from home as evidence for your claim. Taxpayers will be able to choose one of three ways to calculate their additional running expenses for the period. They include: 1. Claim a rate of 80 cents per work hour for all additional running expenses 2. Claim a rate of 52 cents per work hour for heating, cooling, lighting, cleaning and the decline in value of office furniture. Also calculate the work-related portion of your phone and internet expenses, computer consumables, stationery and the decline in value of a computer, laptop or similar device 3. Claim the actual work-related portion of all your running expenses, which you need to calculate on a reasonable basis. The ATO is also reminding people of the three golden rules for deductions still apply: 1. That means taxpayers must have spent the money themselves and not have been reimbursed 2. The claim must be directly related to earning income, and 3. There must be a record to substantiate the claim For help and advice on the benefits you may be entitled to during this time and the effect COVID-19 may have on your investments, visit www.sageretirement.com.au give us a call and one of our Specialist Advisers can talk you through all your options.

01.01.2022 We have all heard the news. Share markets around the world are falling and while market volatility is high, one thing we can say for certain is...please don't panic! During times of instability, it is even more important to hold on to your investments. Abandoning your investment strategy is likely to cause much more damage to your portfolio. Of course, holding on will not protect you from any short-term negative impacts to your portfolio, but once you have weathered the storm..., you will be able to benefit from the increased returns when markets stabilise and risewhich they will. It is at times like this that the experience and knowledge of Financial Advisers become more important than stockpiling toilet rolls. Left to our own devices, we tend to make rash decisions that can negatively impact the value of investments.
