17.01.2022 Our beautiful cat Piglet died suddenly in an accident on Thursday evening. I can barely breathe, I truly believed I would be able to watch her grow old, piggy was just shy of her 13th birthday. Piglet was a remarkable friend, companion and my most favourite cat I’ve ever had the pleasure of caring for. I will miss her head butts, her paw poking me in the face when she wants my attention, her using me as her personal heater, her gentleness, dribbles, and most of all the snuggl...es and bond that we shared. A beautiful couple Tamara and Dan found her and carried her to their car and called me. Then on Friday night the lovely Tamara dropped off a beautiful bunch of flowers. Being shown such kindness by a stranger who is so compassionate has made this experience much easier than it could have been. 16.01.2022 Hello, I hope this message finds you all safe, well and happy. Since my last post on the 31st of October that was full of positivity and an eagerness to get back into treating I have been MIA. There have been no offerings of a Merry Christmas or wishing you all a Happy New Year, please know those messages have been and are there for you in my heart.... Last year for me was an interesting time, a time of huge personal loss and a time of huge personal empowerment. I will briefly address these things in an email as I finally feel I have the words to write and share, I have put my laptop on charge and will write over the next couple of days. Unfortunately the house I’m living in isn’t entirely suitable to treat out of, one of the reasons is the room I wanted to work from has no aircon which isn’t ideal in summer. I am looking for a commercial space for 2 days per week and am waiting on hearing back on a space I’ve enquired about. With all the division that has been escalating in this historic time I send you love. I hope you are able to find yourself in a grounded space of love, if not go within it’s there inside you. My biggest reason for not being active on my business social media accounts is because I have been witnessing far too much division involving opinions on the state of the world, especially in my industry. Never in my life have I felt more driven to retreat from adding my own opinions to the already flooded diatribe. Instead I have been going within, meditating and letting go of any outcomes. I’ve also been resting as much as possible, enjoying the healing waters of the river I live near and this year placing a major focus on my physical health. There have been times where I’ll find myself getting caught up in reading certain posts and comments and then pull myself up because none of it’s helpful (for me anyway). For me, love is the only answer. If you lack love then I find meditation is a good place to start, also nature. Wishing you love and a wonderful, peaceful time ahead. 10.01.2022 Hello there, How are you all going? It’s been a couple of weeks now since I’ve posted anything. Why? I’ve been conscious of not wanting to add to overwhelm and panic. I have also been practicing self care and integrating this new normal. ... In saying all of that I have spent a decent amount of time on social media and being selective of what I expose myself to. My biggest love at the moment is comedy, I have been following things that make me laugh. My second favourite has been anything food related, especially cook at home recipes. I’ve been very determined to keep a Morning routine and found myself requiring the need to be introverted instead of extroverted. Here’s what my mornings look like.... -Wake up, get dressed, walk my dog Kai. -Either go for a morning walk (longer without dog) and listen to upbeat music, OR stay home and meditate. I am starting to integrate both of these things because they are equally important for my wellbeing. -light incense -make coffee or herbal tea (lately it’s been coffee). -listen to sbs chill music whilst reading a book and drinking my coffee OR watching SBS food channel. -Have a shower. After that I have been taking each day as it comes and not planning too much. I’m trying to be the best support possible for my husband who is still working full time + extra hours. Paul is an Environmental Health Officer and has been working behind the scenes on covid-19. It’s full on and super important that I remain calm and create an environment that is peaceful when he is at home. It’s not perfect but so far we are managing this situation. I’m going to be more active on social media from now onwards and am working to put together some free offerings that may support your own isolation. I’m sending you so much love, peace and laughter. 07.01.2022 Hello there, How are you all going? I hope this message finds you well and coping in these challenging times.... I want to update you on what is happening with me and my beautiful small business that I love very much..... Isolation due to Covid has given me heaps of time to ponder what I want for my future and how I can set myself up in a way that is not affected financially when crises happen that are beyond my control. I’ve applied and accepted to study a Bachelor of Nursing Science at USC. I’ll be doing this full time. I’m so excited about studying again and also slightly freaking out. So that is the main reason I have been quiet on social media. It has been an enormous decision to make. My husband Paul and I had to work through everything carefully to make sure me studying full time for the next 3.3 years is doable. Where does this leave my holistic therapy business? I’m still going to keep it and operate on a very scaled back schedule. At this stage it looks like I will operate on Fridays but need to finish getting my lecture schedule, hopefully next week as uni starts this month. I’m still fine tuning whether to run treatments from my place of residence or offer a mobile service. I will start operating again in August, this will give me time to get into the swing of a new schedule. Here’s some great news.... Once I made the decision to study Nursing, everything shifted for me in a very positive way. The universe has definitely responded immediately by opening new doors, assistance in different ways, meeting new people and I’m having the experience of being in the right place at the right time on almost a daily basis. It’s very exciting and feels like a soul calling that is finally being met. Whilst part of me is sad that my business hasn’t worked out how I had planned, I am a big fan of change and growth. I don’t feel it’s the end of Sage for the Soul but more of a transition period. I have no idea what the end game will look like but I have an inkling that it will be great. Wishing you all so much love and huge gratitude for being so patient. I will be posting when treatments are available again and look forward to seeing familiar and new faces. 06.01.2022 Hello there! How are you all going? I really hope this communication finds you happy, healthy and coping with the current times we are all facing.... There is plenty going on with Sage for the Soul and it’s time I shared the changes with you. On Tuesday this week I was told that the space I have been renting within Coastal Cosmedics in Cotton Tree will no longer be available to occupy. This is due to the owner Sheileen taking her business in a different direction which I am fully supportive and understanding of. Sheileen has been amazing to me and is a wonderful Cosmetic technician, I am grateful for the time I spent with Sheileen and wish her the best in moving forward. Where does this leave my beloved business? Oh crikey! At this point I’m not really sure, I had been planning on re-opening in full capacity on the 15th of June but am now having to re-evaluate everything. At first I wasn’t keen on having to come up with a new business plan but now I have had a couple of days to ponder, I am at peace with making big decisions and have a feeling of excitement about change. I am definitely taking this forceable change as a massive sign that its time to get really serious about the direction I want to take Sage for the Soul in. A complete overhaul of therapies offered etc will come into great consideration. Where does this new direction leave you, my wonderful clients? For now it’s a hold tight situation until I can find a new home for the business. Gift Certificate holders- Over the next couple of weeks I will be making contact with the people who have purchased certificates to offer a full refund, it will be up to you to contact the person you gifted it to as I will only have their name. There will also be the option of holding onto the certificates until I re-open if that’s what you prefer to do. Because of all the upheaval I estimate I will now re-open in stage three of Qld’s Covid-19 plan which is mid July. I can’t think of a better day to call in this energy of manifestation and renewal. Treatments will become available again from Thursday the 3rd of December, opening on Thursdays and Fridays. 02.01.2022 My intentions- Expand my knowledge surrounding history past and present regarding the treatment and oppression of Indigenous Australians and also other native peoples from around the globe. Encourage open conversations about racism within my family unit, friends and colleagues to further understand the impacts that racism has within our communities and how we can help stamp it out as a collective.... As Australians gear up tomorrow to peacefully protest equal human rights, in particular the black lives matter movement, I send you my love and support. Whilst I won’t be there in the flesh, my heart/mind is marching with you. May your message ripple throughout this land and create the positive waves it demands. I’ve always stood for love, empathy, equality and compassion but a feeling is not doing enough and for this I am sorry. I want to thank humans of colour for continuing to bring this to global attention. I’m deeply sorry you have suffered for so long. The time is now to make necessary changes so that no human has to live their life in fear because of the colour of their skin. I will continue to sit in daily meditation and expand my heart space so I can be apart of a global healing whilst also grounding the energy so it becomes balanced.
