15.01.2022 This is the hardest post I have ever written! Many of you have been asking lately when we are reopening. Unfortunately due to irreconcilable differences between myself and the Bowls Club I have chosen to not renew my lease. So as it stands we will not be reopening as Sage on Hickey This has deeply affected myself and my staff as we have loved you all as part of our extended family and are saddened that it has come to this. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart the c...ommunity certainly got behind us and I will be forever grateful to each and everyone of you for your support through the good times, the fun times and the totally nerve wracking times (think degustation and public speaking ) 4 and a half years of pure craziness, this is definitely not goodbye but see you later! I do have some good news though, over the week I have actively been searching for a venue for my staff. This has not been a very easy task but it looks like we have found a new home and part of the Sage team will be relocating to the Gatton Leagues Club this coming week. We will be utilising the clubs menu this week and hoping in the coming weeks to add our special flair that you all know and love in the coming weeks. As it stands I will only be helping to set up with the girls and then I will be stepping back. (But I will be around as I love special events and am hoping I can continue to do degustation dinners quarterly) We know this is a shock and many of you will be upset and we totally understand this and this has weighed very heavily on our minds and hearts. But as they say onwards and upwards and we look forward to seeing many of your lovely faces. 02.01.2022 There is still a lot going on behind the scenes at Sage! We are doing some Renovations and revamping the look a little. I have still been baking up a storm and getting back into making preserves and Cakes are still consistently being made. We also had an amazing Mother’s Day and we thank you from the bottoms of our heart. It was so amazing the amount of orders we received. By the way we can’t wait to reopen our doors to you all but that is still around 6-8 weeks for us! We ha...ve decided not to open until the restrictions have basically been lifted, this was a choice not taken lightly and reopening has been made more complicated due to restrictions in not only the hospitality industry but also due to the mining industry (in which my husband works) I have little support from family due to my parents being isolated and they are the ones who watch my kids due to our work hours. So I have had to put the restaurant to the side whilst the tougher restrictions have been laid out. But we will be back, bigger and better than ever. You just watch this space.
